Because on the stated order agreement earlier in this thread the base price is within the limit. The question is like how FSD does not count to the MSRP cap. Would the Foundation series line item option count to the MSRP cap or not.I’m not following this discussion I guess
I don’t understand any interpretation of the Foundation pricing or the credit that would cause someone to think the Foundation AWD at $100K would qualify
the base MSRP is $10 under the limit
A single $11 accessory would bust the limit
Take for example the Foundation’s premium wheels and AT tires, which are not included in the base $79K MSRP.
Meanwhile, the price for a special edition *is* included in MSRP, because all these things are included at delivery (special badging, special interior colors, etc.).
Even if there are things one might argue shouldn’t be in MSRP (eg paid up connectivity), what *is* included in Foundation that *is* attached at delivery is >$11
Finally, note that the order pages do not factor in possible federal savings calc - which if they thought might be ever possible, they would include.
First things first, your tax professional
Second things second, you can go check the IRS website for the then-current list of vehicles that are capable of ever qualifying. I don’t think the CT has been added yet. But I haven’t looked in a while Infer fro that what you will.
That said, the date of relevance is the vehicle’s in service date, which generally speaking is the date the customer takes delivery.
Regardless, for reasons noted up above, I don’t understand how one could have any interpretation that a car with an MSRP (that’s what we’re looking at here) of >$90K wouldn’t bust the cap.
Think of it like this: you’re ordering a Raptor, not an F150
You don’t get to ignore the MSRP of the Raptor group of upgrades and badging, etc., and claim the MSRP of an F150
I did not get the $1k offer. Just the foundation email.actually a good question: anyone here that got Foundation offer that ALSO got these $1,000 off another model texts/emails?
Congrats I’m in Houston too hoping to get one! day 0 reservation RN112746xxWe just got ours in Houston with a 50k slot on day 2!

Pulling for ya!!!No new emails here. Waiting to see if a batch goes out at 9:30pm Central.
Honestly this seems to be the best and simplest explanation. Here’s to hoping you are wrong ?yes
just think of this like a Monroney window sticker
included in the MSRP is the not only the base price (ie the AWD price), but also separate entires for all options or options packages
this Foundation “option” is a special edition
option package
like a Ford Lightning Pro has an option package to add the ER battery and the things that come with it

The items within the package aren’t separately optioned or separately priced, that you can cherry pick to back out (if any could be backed out)
Meanwhile and separately, I’m now convinced (until Tesla clarifies explicitly to the contrary) that there is not paid-up FSD built into the price of the Foundation trims
Trim comes with base AP. It’s capable of accepting FAD later (when it’s available) if you purchase FSD (once it’s available)
I think you are correct:yes

If that's the case then I'm in as wellI was not going to order my foundation series over this but if this qualifies for the tax credit I’m in. Anyone know how to verify for sure if it does or doesn’t?
