Absolutely. You know that you are an unusual case and you have to plan accordingly.

I hope that you may be thinking of adding at least another kW or two to handle the additional load.

True. It’d be for a small population / situations where you would want to use it.
False.

This is really concerning. Tesla needs to release a CCS adaptor ASAP. It's ludicrous to assume that CCS is dead and CT owners will only need superchargers going forward.

Literally what is the point of a truck if you can't take it to remote places where there are no super chargers? These places all have CCS charging available.

I apologize, in my area of Texas the CCS chargers are not reliable and aren’t utilized very much. Of course, that experience is where I am speaking from.

Just to point out that if you’re really stuck the regular J1772 adapter works and is waaay more common than CCS or NACS
Hardly seems worth making this a drop everything and fix it given the small number of CTs on the road and the even smaller number that this will affect.

False? I didn't realize that Alaska has an anticipated number of Cybertrucks that is so big.

I was expecting that Alaska would be a small percentage of the Cybertrucks, just as the OP mentioned.

If nothing else, many are hoping that the new CCS will support 800V charging.
It will come. Be patient.

If I'm not mistaken, J1772 is 20kW charging, vs 50kW for the CCS. That's the difference between wanting to actually take the truck somewhere, and deciding to take the ICE truck instead.

Sure. But there is a larger point here. *ALL* CT owners need to be able take their trucks to the far-out places where superchargers don't exist, it's not just Alaska. Take a look at Plugshare, most of those "far-out" places have CCS charging, and at 50kW, it's a decent fallback when you need it.

To me, this is the difference between "CT is a real truck designed to do truck things", and "CT is really designed for suburbanites who don't do truck things."

That would be great, but that sounds like a long rollout to upgrade the currently existing CCS stations.

Without a CCS adaptor, I lose 50% of the utility I was expecting. That is until Tesla steps up and fills Alaska with superchargers.

Do you know how long Model Y owners had their cars and CCS wasn't available? I've got my 2018 Model 3 and it isn't available on it yet.

CCS is not required for the truck. It may be highly desirable for you, but it isn't required.

If you feel that you got to have one, there are a number of different options on YouTube. I have no idea if they will fit or not.

While there have been a number of trucks on the road for the last month, it was only Jan 2 that someone noticed (and posted) that the old one didn't fit.

Chill, it will come.

And assuming that you didn't get the Foundation truck, it may come many months before you get your truck.

Seriously ... NACS is the new standard, by the time the CyberTruck is out in volume most other networks will have added NACS support ... it's really only an issue for early adopters ...

J-1772 can handle more, (80A I believe) but the truck can only handle 48A (11.5 kW) of AC conversion.

I dare say that 50% of the Cybertrucks, like Pick-ups never feel dirt under their wheels.
And nothing ever promised you that capability. That's why the President has authorized a billion or so dollars to create the infrastructure.

If you must be able to go anywhere, the Cybertruck is definitely not the truck for you.

The infrastructure is coming, be patient.
