Aftermarket 325 wide tires + 18" Method wheels installed on Cybertruck

I've currently got 325 wide mud terrain tires installed with an aggressive back spacing which is significantly less efficient than stock (but looks amazing) and have seen ~460wh/mi over the last 150 miles.

Love the stance and profile but there is a point of form over function and for a the CT, I just can't tell if it was built with function in mind or since it was design constrained to form, its a form vehicle... paradoxical perspective

Fleeting thought - before I forget - when the rear wheel steering is updated to ten degrees of radius vs the current three degrees its currently at, will this be a problem for vehicles with this kind of stance?

The automotive scene has never really seen some turn radius change before with a software update, and I really wonder if these folks are thinking about that or not.

You could have achieved the same “look” without as big of an efficiency hit if you’d go with a wider offset wheel, or even spacers, instead of such a wide tire. Less chance of rubbing too. Mud terrains on a street vehicle is not my first choice, even for an avid off-roader. A/T or hybrid terrain is the way to go from a daily driver standpoint.

With this setup, you’re taking a significant range hit due to increased rolling resistance from wider contact patch, taller lugs, and heavier tires, to name just a few. But yeah, it looks good!

Not much of a truck guy / off-roader eh ? Maybe model y is best for you ? Nice dry paved roads . No scary rocks or branches to puncture the frail factory sidewalls of them budget tires they come with .

by this logic, no truck (even gas ones) should have any sort of aggressive tire as they would all be affected by “efficiency” and supposedly form or function. And yet many people choose to install larger, more aggressive tires, so they can actually have fun or use the truck beyond the Starbucks drive-through. Probably beyond the scope of your imagination or experiences but it’s OK. It’s not your fault. How would you know?

Right but it’s possible he wasn’t going for looks. Maybe he just didn’t want to shred the crap out of those weak ass tires over rocks and boulders or take chunks of metal out of those ghetto 20 inch show wheels.? Idk ? Possible if he’s using it as an actually “truck” ?

I don’t know what has been your experience running the BFG km3 tires ? They’re not as loud as you would think and have way better coefficient of friction on road dirt mud or rocks. They bite in snow very easily and eject lots of water when rolling on the highway no problem with the lugs. Also, when you deflate with those bead locks at super low pressures, they deform very nicely and not symmetrically like some off-road tires helping you spread that rubber over rocks and such. But yeah, I don’t know what has been your experience with them?

Right , God forbid an actual pick up truck might get a bit of dust on it? What the heck , this form is full of complete wet noodles , no wonder normal people make fun of Tesla owners, and the cyber truck crowd. Ewwwww lame Os. You guys seem like the people who would have a hot girlfriend and do nothing with her, but just comb her hair and paint her nails. (Or dude depending on ur preferences)

yeah, some good posts there

though he does seem a touch defensive and not terribly detail oriented in his posts perhaps

eg he took exception to certain range reports by others, but kind of fails to account for him living in Fremont and others living where … winter exists
