I asked a bunch of questions about this topic and with technician on site (Im having a second powerwall installed today) technician said the Cybertruck package for Home powershare and V3 are only being installed at employee based homes. Obviously we all know why. When the time comes any system would need a new 200amp subpanel upgrade from normal 100amp subpanels (not main which is normally 200amp) which Tesla solar and powerwall comes with which was installed with my new system 2 years ago. Bigger gauge wiring would be needed from the main to the subpanel (for solar and powerwall) to handle the load from truck to subpanel and V3 Gateway. So, more work is needed to install when the time comes than expected for PowerShare. Wall charger if connected to 200amp Main no extra work needed but if you want to use your Solar/Powerwall/Gateway system alot more work would be needed. Technician is very helpful and giving information so any questions, if you have questions send my way and I'll ask.

I didn't notice an asterisk during the ordering process that said I'd only get powershare equipment if I was an employee... I really hope they'll just send the equipment and let us deal with install later rather than deciding for us if we should get it vs the supercharger miles.

Any type of home backup solution is not really a small amount of work to begin with, so none of this should actually be surprising to us, to tesla, or to installers.

I hear you and wish I would just get the equipment too but Tesla doesn't just sell the parts to anyone who wants them. Needs to go through permitting process and certified installers. The only thing you will see with your CT is the cable for vehicle to vehicle share and Wall Charger. Information provided by actual recipient of CT.

I don't even think we'll get the wall charger if they happen to not approve us for powershare. I think just the mobile connector. Which, like, come on guys... the bare minimum you could do is send us the damn wall charger. If you're right about actually getting the wall charger, that's news to me. I haven't seen anyone else claim that. I hope you're right, it would definitely be better than nothing.

Also, it does look like I can just go online and buy a v2 gateway. Not direct, but there are a dozen places I found in 10 seconds of searching that will send it out. So whatever their point is, it's moot.

You know, everyone likes to play semantics when someone comes on here and says that tesla promised X price and Y range for the truck, and correct them by saying nothing was promised ever... But this isn't really like that. I would go so far as to say it's shady. They put the "included" option of powershare in the configurator, but then in your order agreement, they don't break down what's included. They just say "premium accessories". That way they can lie and say they never promised powershare equipment would be included. If this was going to be the case, then from the very start they should never have offered it. Instead give us each 2 sets of the bins that go in the bed and the compressor, or a spare tire, or whatever combination of things gets us close to what that value is. And like, at any point in time, they could have changed what they said was included. AFAIK, they have not. Not even to say "you will only get powershare equipment if approved by an installer".

It's not even that I feel they are being malicious... just that it feels like they don't care enough about this whole process for anyone ordering this vehicle. It would take them 5 minutes to sit down and address this, or at least change the order page for people who order from now forward. But they don't care enough to do that, when instead they can pretend it's part of the value of the foundation series.

yes, it's been a struggle with the information given. the V3 is what's needed according to the technician who's installed 3 in California for the Power Share system so V2 would not work.

I understand, my point is eventually I'll be able to find one at a solar parts store just like the v2. The only thing they are doing by not just sending me the parts is reducing the value of the foundation series package, and costing me more money later.

Based on how PowerShare was presented in the FS package anyone who wants to cancel if they are ineligible should be able to cancel their order with no financial penalty and not lose their place in line. At very best the offer was misleading. Even giving benefit of doubt it smells like bait and switch.

We have plans to build a house in the next few years and I'm really trying to sort this out in my head so I can lay things out for an easy install.

I was planning on having all electrical appliances (induction stove, instant hot water electric tanks, etc) and two EVs so I had 400 amp service planned.

No solar option as there are too many tall trees around house that can't be trimmed per codes.

I guess I just need a gateway and put it in that 'open area' in my basement.
I have two 200 amp panels and I guess I would figure out what my critical loads are (1 heat pump in walkout basement and 1 heat pump upstairs, some main lighting, ... those dang instant hot water taken take high amps tho so need to leave those off).

>>> Would welcome any thought and would be happy to take this off line. <<<

Tesla owner manual: older Wall Connector that supported 80a (72a in my X)

Old plans from 2021/2022 that I worked with a builder on and customized a lot ourselves.

I very much agree with this. Not to mention the complete lack of FSD. The fun little notice you get when you get a Vin number saying all sorts of these features will be added in the future will be my exit point. I'm sure I'll lose my original $100 if I walk but I'll get the $900 back via tesla or my credit card if it comes to it. This thing has been and still is a moving target.

I have a question about my eligibility, after the survey it said I was Eligable and will be contacted for more info.
I own a home, have a 6.7kw (owned, not leased) solar system, a 200 amp main distribution box that is directly on the other side of my garage and only a few feet from the wall charger.
Would I need another panel ?

I have a solar system and 2 V2 Powerwalls. With the FS I should get the V3 Gateway, correct?

And will it still work with my V2 Powerwalls?

I live in Texas and Tesla offers to be my electricity servicer, but their plan doesn’t make sense compared to other plans available through other services.

I’m on a nights free program, I pay 24Ā¢ per kWh 7am-9pm, and then free overnight. I run on battery starting at 7am until the sun takes over powering the house and recharges the battery. At sunset, battery takes over until 9pm, when I then recharge my Powerwalls and Model X for free from the grid.

Tesla’s electric plan charges 12.3Ā¢ per kWh 7pm-4pm and then ā€˜Peak’ 17Ā¢ per kWh from 4pm-7pm. Their only benefit is that during a grid shortage they negotiate a price with the power company for your battery energy. No guarantee it will happen or how much they will pay.

I ran into the same thing. Smart Charge America has hardware, but only for employees. I was instructed to call back in three months.
