I guess we know where the few units GM actually produced are going. Wonder how long until they're on Hertz's vehicle (re-)sales site....?

@Sjohnson20 - Whatever writeup / review you care to provide when you're done with it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just passed up a car hauler on the 605 SoCal freeway with 5 identical white electric Silverados. Being delivered to Hertz?

This is the second Hertz Silverado I've read about since yesterday. The other is a 3WT. The OP said it showed 400+ miles at 100% charge.
He also said that the software is buggy but not majorly so.

Sending test mules to rental companies is a really good method of scream testing to be honest...

I wonder if I'd be excited or not with that car swap. I've been renting Model 3s for my last few trips and would not want to worry about charging with anything other than the supercharger network.
That'd be cool to rent at home for a few days for fun and charge at home.

I flew into LAX and had a car reserved with Hertz. I wanted a Model Y or 3 but they were out.

The next option was an EV6 or similar. I got to the spot and it was a Silverado EV with only 9 driven on it so far.

It drives great like you would expect from an EV and had 1 pedal driving so I was happy with that. I had to use Apple car play since they didn't have a data package
on it. It said 365 miles when it was at 100% charge. I still have tomorrow to mess around with it so I will check it out more tomorrow. I just
got off a flight from Tokyo so I didn't really feel like digging into it today.

So far though, I want the Cybertruck way more though even though I never drove one lol

What time do you need to turn it in tomorrow? I’d love to bring my CyberTruck over to do a quick comparison video.

What is "scream testing", exactly?
similar to this, but in context here it would be "what are the rental customers screaming about that we need to fix." Basically it's a method of development that readily identifies the most contentious part of a system.

with only 9mi on the OD, etc., these vehicles guess-o-meters are likely just entirely ‘untrained’ at the moment

It really is, going to get a lot of feedback from a wide variety of drivers so you can fix things before they are set in stone and you are committed to making 100,000 vehicles with some issues.

A "scream test" is the software version of a hardware "smoke test"

Yeah I wanted a Y or 3 but with this size battery no need to charge I'll just return to Hertz and pay the $25 recharge fee. I have no desire to go anywhere near a CCS charger lol

I have to be at the airport at 7 am tomorrow. If you can make it to downtown LA tonight we can do it.
