$78K for 450 mile and $72K for 350 mile work truck means the consumer 350 mile version may be around $79K and no guarantee it will include Mid-gate.

p.s 8500 lb is heavy. Looking forward to see CT’s weight for similar range. I am hoping it will be better if they are shooting for originally announced payload.

Add in the cost of generators or running power from the nearby poles.

How long can you run equipment with 200 kWh battery :)

CyberTruck has its work cut out for it in the worksite electrical truck game

Between lightning and silverado ev I'm going lightning all day. Lariat price === work truck price and has a big enough bed.

Cant really speculate on CT based off a random cutout with nothing installed lol

I continue to see news saying GM is ready to go bankrupt in China and their status in the US isn't that good either. I know Ford was bailed out recently but don't remember them being bailed out the first time when GM was bailed out. There's no reason for the US to bail out GM again so I have to wonder whether GM will even be able to make these trucks in a significant amount.

I love how these articles can't help but reference the cybertruck in their title every time. They are the reason why Tesla doesn't need an advertising wing.

There's no getting around the fact that the Silverado is basically just their version of the lightning, an okay electric truck that they just pumped out as quickly as possible. Sad part is that everyone I talk to about their lightnings isn't terribly impressed with it and I suspect Chevy will also have this happen. Next thing you know, people will be saying that electric trucks don't make any sense because they're preferred manufacturers didn't put out good ones.

Ford has never been "bailed out". They have taken multi-billion-dollar loans from the US Government, but that's no more a "bailout" than my mortgage.

Point of process:

The $9B Ford financing last week was not a “bailout,”itit is a low interest loan through the DoE’s Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program, a program to reduce US dependence on oil and reduce carbon emissions.

It’s the same program from which Tesla took out a 1/2 billion during the Obama administration (as did Ford, and both of those companies are among the few who have completely repaid those Obama era DoE loans.)

The loan program has been around forever, but went dormant during the Trump administration (Rick Perry appointed to lead the loan program the guy who was previously the property manager for the TX capital building.)

These loans are entirely different from the Troubled Asset Relief Program the US Treasury invested a total $51 billion into the GM bankruptcy “bailout.”

FWIW I watched [most of, he talks too much] Kyle's OutOfSpec review and the 4WT looks good and has impressive range numbers. I agree that this sets the bar higher for Tesla and we will see if what Franz said last year will be true (namely, that the Cybertruck is the only truck we will need). Its getting exciting!
