Hey! Hoping to get some answers because NO ONE at Tesla seems to know. I've asked a few vehicle sales locations, Tesla Energy and Powerwall support. I have a 200 amp main, 42 solar panels at 335 each for a total of 14K and I installed a 60 amp sub on a transfer switch that I've been using a dual fuel generator on the 50 amp plug for it during outages. I live in California and have NEM2 so I get equal credit for how much solar I send back to the grid so it hasn't been worth it to get Powerwalls. So that's my setup.

My question is, with the V3 installed, is it possible to have solar tied in to the subpanel and thus be able to charge the Cybertruck from the solar during the day and then pull power when needed/at night? In essence function as a Powerwall without purchasing Powerwalls? Is it possible to charge the Cybertruck off grid with the Powershare setup and V3 gateway with solar without any Powerwalls? Thanks for any input!

I would contact the companies that Tesla outsources for their installations. They would probably give you the best answer to your question.

Oooh you could probably just use the plug you already have with your CT and not get the Powershare home connector.

Although that'd give you less power total. You'd spend like no money (disregard if you have FS beast ordered lol)

I tried. I called a few here in Northern California. As of last week they said PG&E our utility provider had not authorized installation of them yet. Don't know if that's true or not so guess I'll just hurry up and wait

After 4 years plus of waiting, I decided to go AWD. If the Beast came out first like I thought it would have, def would have gone for it. I work from home and want a reliable long term solution for power outages without spending a lot on Powerwalls. Given the battery size of the Cybertruck vs one Powerwall, it would be great to use those batteries as charging and storage devices in an outage. Just don't know if I would need to buy one or two Powerwalls for that to work or not

When you have Powerwalls , they are controlled and monitored through your same Tesla app and there is a vehicle charge setting option for your solar generated power.

I was thinking plug the 14-50 outlet that you already have for the Genny into the truck and use that. But I can totally get the want to have more power at your disposal.

I'm gonna shoot for the real Powershare wall connector setup too. But if it's too expensive I'm gonna do the 50 amp plug way
