I confirmed with Tesla that my vehicle is at the Dublin, CA service center awaiting inspection as of Saturday, February 18th with 15 miles on the odometer. No date given for delivery. I was told it can take 3 to 4 days to receive, inspect & prep. Being that it was Saturday on a holiday weekend, my guess is I might hear something around Thursday, February 21st.

In addition, the service advisor told me that I do not need to complete my payment. They said I can visually inspected the vehicle, then complete the financial transaction, which makes me feel better. I didn’t want to drop $113,202 on something I have not seen or have been given a confirmed delivery date.

My excitement for CT is almost completely dead at this point. Looks like there is no deliveries to GA yet, so it doesn't even feel like I'm close. I'm in the 12/19 group and unsure if I'll even get the truck this year. Anyone with any words of encouragement? Or should I just go ahead and get my down payment back and put it towards a new Model 3 to take advantage of the FSD transfer?
What? Of course you'll get it this year. Tesla delivery est. a week or so ago for new FS orders was Feb-Apr. So worst case, if you wanted to take the most pessimistic view, you could tell yourself April.

That was before Tesla crapped on reservation holders in line without 30,000 brownie points.

Negative. There is no way Tesla sabotaged their own delivery estimates. The accelerated delivery thing maybe pulled 50-100 people forward, and I'd venture to say many of those already had deliveries occurring in the next 2-4 weeks anyway.

Sure, but this has always been a lie. Unless a Feb 13 order takes delivery this month, or a 1/9 order took delivery in january, or a 12/8 order took delivery in december... It was always a known lie at the time of sending the invites to try to entice people to convert, by thinking they would be more likely to convert if they think there's a chance of delivery in two weeks.

They certainly would have no problem missing their estimated lead times. It's no skin off of their back. If we don't like it, they can keep our $1000. We have no idea how many people jumped the line. It could be 5, or it could be 500. We don't know. Anyone who wasn't in the process of having a vin assigned before the line skips may be pushed back half a day or multiple weeks.

Congrats! Best news of the day! I configured it on 12/22 and my pick-up is in Dublin. Still no VIN yet.

I'm not following.... It's not a lie until Tesla fails to deliver By March 31st. Even with that, these are estimates. By mid April if orders placed from Jan 1st - Feb 10th or so are not delivered, i'll be shaking my fist in the air with you.

As one example, it was a lie if on 1/9 they knew that "jan-mar" was actually "feb-mar", which they did. I'm not saying they had to deliver every order in january, but there were zero, and they knew there would be zero.

ah ok. Expectations i guess.

Jan-Mar to me meant the very first orders would be delivered based on production and customer location, so for me, that was very few, 100-300, and the rest would follow out from there through March as production scaled. I actually think Tesla is outpacing my initial expectations.

They certainly would have no problem missing their estimated lead times. It's no skin off of their back. If we don't like it, they can keep our $1000. We have no idea how many people jumped the line. I disagree. There is no way Tesla is maliciously deceiving customers like this. We shall see how many folks will be pushed back, OR, we we won't most likely, because it's so insignificant, and calculated to make it so.

You were actually expecting it this early? Tesla has indicated that they will be starting in CA and TX for a long time.

GA was doomed for maybe end of February or March from the beginning and probably even later.

its obvious that they are estimating 90 days out (and they are still under that by the way) if you look at the order data you actually see they gave jan-mar estimates till around January 15th, then they switched to Feb-April, and yet again if you look at orders around Feb 15th they are now saying March-May. they cant possibly give every single person a different delivery estimated timeframe. if they want to group they into quarters, i think thats perfectly reasonable. if you had a 1/9 order (which i am one of them) and expect delivery in january and are mad you didnt get it then you are being unreasonable. if you ordered then you better be fine with a delivery any time within that window. i think you are splitting hairs here.

What I find interesting is we are in the same location and you configured 7 days sooner and got your VIN 10 days sooner and yours is in transit. While mine is 1500’s and is already there.

I'm just happy to see an Ohio VIN. The delivery truck will pass right thru Columbus to get to Cleveland, just drop 1 off.
