Update:

So I happened to talk with support about another issue and mentioned this. They said there is an issue with the bed cover switch and they are redesigning it.

Original post:

I just had a weird experience. Went to check on the truck in the app like I usually do and it said my vault cover was open, which I didn't want because it's currently raining. Looked back at my camera and I can see it opened itself when I was having an issue closing my garage door. Then when I walked up to the truck to see what's in the back and close it manually it opened up the rest of the way on its own. Only myself and my wife have access in the app and it wasn't her.

are you *sure* it wasnt her :p lol sounds like something my wife would totally do
Definitely something my wife would do too but she would also tell me if she did it when I asked. She said I don't even know how to do it so I had to show her.

if my wife said that i know she was lying :p lol

be curious if it happens again, not like random RF waves can really cause it like other remotes.

Maybe the Cybertruck AI is gaslighting both of you.

We did see some water issues with the vault switch on the major drive through the water video.

This also happened to me. I picked up my cybertruck during heavy rains in the bay area. The switch worked Ok for 2 days - then progressively started malfunctioning in strange ways. The button order changed (open became close and close became tailgate) - then worked sporadically - then ceased completely. I had it open on its own 3 times.

Eventually it started working normally on its own but it is currently in the shop being investigated. All signs point to shorting of the switch, possibly from water intrusion.

Interesting. There was also that video of the CT driving through deep water and afterwards the tonneau switch was not working. Seems there may be some water ingress happening with the current switch in some cases. (so far only three that i've heard of now).

That's my guess as well. Mine also hasn't had the same issue happen again but at some point my tailgate button stopped working, but I think that was due to the truck not sensing my phone nearby. When I take my phone out of my pocket and press a button to wake it up, then it works. So I canceled the service I had scheduled. Hopefully they redesign the button and fix this issue soon because I don't want to store anything there if there's a chance it will open up automatically.

These are the kind of one in a million (or one in a thousand, or hundred) situations that pop up during ramp.

Frustrating, but good to hear they're responsive at service!

A couple pieces of polycarbonate sheeting could make you a makeshift cover until the fix is in.
