just reserved two.
looks a metric ton nice than a model Y to move and 26 would be when my nephew turns 16.
GF and I decided together to skip Fisker and it turns out that seems to have been wise but this vehicle is way more appealing to us both.

the folding seats, wheel controls and overall interior are fantastic

Incredibly well done Rivian

I think Rivian hit it out of the park with the R2 and R3. Have my reservation in for the R2.

How in the world did they manage to keep the R3 and R3X a complete surprise. That's like impossible these days!

BTW, saw this photo earlier today... gloss black Cybertruck crashing the R2/R3 reveal ?

Some notions. Rivian isn't making any money at the price points in the R2/R3 reveals. Will they execute while laying off workers?? The appropriate comparison is to the Model Y, which has alot more pizzazz in same price ball park... The CT IS NOT AN SUV...

R2 over a Y all day. Can't wait for 2 years from now and the $45k price 24 $'s is $50k in 26 $'s and people who don't understand inflation lose their minds lol.

I wish there was a law that car companies couldn't "reveal" a new model until it was one year from mass production.

This concept/prototype/2 - 3 years from now vehicle looks great.
But how the heck are they going to bring the cost down that much?
Spec an R1T now, and you are $80-$90 grand....and they are losing money on those.

How will they make a $50,000 vehicle, and make a profit?
They are going to be making it in the same factory alongside the R1T/R1S.

The reveal was so Tesla/Apple like. RJ was well prepared and did a great job.

The upcoming rally inspired R3X Tri Motor will be the surprise hit of the bunch. The R2 is basically a shrunken version of the R1S (yawn).

That $45k MSRP was just an attention grabber for the media. That's for the RWD strippo version that nobody will want.

Everyone will want the DM or Tri Motor version. The Dual Motor will most likely start at $55k, the Tri Motor at $60k plus.

I could not look at the front of a Rivian everyday - mind you theres plenty of other fugly vehicles out there - CyberTruck being a pretty rare exception these days.

I think it's going to be built in Georgia instead of normal or something like that. Also, they basically took a page out of the model Y book, with the structural battery back and stuff. So I don't think it's impossible.

I don't think 1 motor will raise it 10k but yea that's the 270 mile rwd. So a 300+ mile AWD would likely be mid 50s but that's before tax credit and that's awesome. Provided they still exist then

Yeah, but you got to realize that the Foundation Series R2s and R3s, which will be the only ones sold in the first Model Years, are going to cost 20K more, so that will help with their bottom line.
