See, when I was digging through invitations a few months ago, it *seemed* like tesla had initially been sort of smart. Sending out invites only to the states that were getting early delivery on 12/8 and 12/9. Why would they send out early invites to states that would get deliveries late? Wouldn't make any sense, because then those people would be waiting an unreasonable amount of time. but it wasn't 100% true across the board. And I could never really nail down a pattern. But stuff like this, it seems to suggest a lack of invites sent out to that state in particular. Or deliveries at that specific showroom. Then someone gets lucky and gets a 1/10 vin in cleveland while a 12/19 order in columbus is left waiting, for example.

There's no way a non VIP is getting jumped ahead of a bunch of other orders at a given showroom for no reason. But ahead of other orders in a given state? definitely possible.

And honestly the pattern may just be that there weren't many people in a given area who were up and placing orders close to the reservations going live. So the list may have big gaps of time between order dates but small gaps of time between vin assignments.

It's definitely not a completely random lottery though. Even if it seems that way when 2/20 orders get vins assigned, that would be happening in every state if it were totally random. And it's not, it's only happening in a couple of places.

Will do.

When I talked with Tesla I asked if they are trying to get it delivered before the end of the quarter and they said yes.
So that’s hopeful.

I was also able to send a request to the delivery center that they do not sand the truck without contacting me first. From the pictures I’ve seen of some delivery centers sanding parts, I would prefer that they don’t sand it and I will do the Bar Keepers Friend method myself. It looks like they have used too aggressive a grit on their sanders.
