I've been trying to figure out how to setup my CT for overlanding. I'm coming from a Jeep where I had an awesome GFC tent setup, but I'm not looking into having an RTT mounted on the CT, instead looking for a creative way to leverage the unusual bed trunk to have something that's easy to setup, fold, but is completely hidden and protected inside the bed vault.
So my options:
- CyberTent + use under tent area for drawers / fridge (yes, very limited height here, so challenges on the way)
- makeshift solution, where I'm considering building a flat bed area using the L-tracks, and an inflatable or foldable solution from here. Below the L-tracks, storage for drawers / kitchen / fridge
My questions:
1) CyberTent:
a) if you have one, what are your impressions? the folding seems a major pain + hate having to remove the part above the bed in front each time. Would you buy it again?
b) Do you think or know if a V2 is coming? It's been out of stocks for a while with expected back in stock in January. Wondering if they had poor sales and considered an updated design with Heimplanet which manufactures the tent AFAIK
2) Platform setup for the CT: haven't seen anything great that would help build up a platform using the L-tracks for a sleeping area. There is this Tesla Cybertruck L-Track Molle Shelf Level Molle – CyberGearco but it's a bit expensive. Would need 3 of them at least + build an extension to go over the tailgate. I know they are a few brands that build foldable wood based platforms for a similar purpose. Haven't seen anything for the CT yet.
Post your solutions if you've worked out an interesting in bed camp setup that is not a RTT. Thank you!
