I've been trying to figure out how to setup my CT for overlanding. I'm coming from a Jeep where I had an awesome GFC tent setup, but I'm not looking into having an RTT mounted on the CT, instead looking for a creative way to leverage the unusual bed trunk to have something that's easy to setup, fold, but is completely hidden and protected inside the bed vault.

So my options:
- CyberTent + use under tent area for drawers / fridge (yes, very limited height here, so challenges on the way)
- makeshift solution, where I'm considering building a flat bed area using the L-tracks, and an inflatable or foldable solution from here. Below the L-tracks, storage for drawers / kitchen / fridge

My questions:
1) CyberTent:
a) if you have one, what are your impressions? the folding seems a major pain + hate having to remove the part above the bed in front each time. Would you buy it again?
b) Do you think or know if a V2 is coming? It's been out of stocks for a while with expected back in stock in January. Wondering if they had poor sales and considered an updated design with Heimplanet which manufactures the tent AFAIK

2) Platform setup for the CT: haven't seen anything great that would help build up a platform using the L-tracks for a sleeping area. There is this Tesla Cybertruck L-Track Molle Shelf Level Molle – CyberGearco but it's a bit expensive. Would need 3 of them at least + build an extension to go over the tailgate. I know they are a few brands that build foldable wood based platforms for a similar purpose. Haven't seen anything for the CT yet.

Post your solutions if you've worked out an interesting in bed camp setup that is not a RTT. Thank you!

I have the cybertent and used it all summer. Set up and break down is quick, takes about 5 min once you’ve done it once. Removing the aero piece is not a problem with the quick release things that Tesla now installs.

Cybertent v2? Who knows. I thought I read somewhere that they would be restocked soon.

I’d definitely buy it again without thinking twice. It is expensive, but it integrates perfectly, and i believe it will last the life of the vehicle, so well worth it for me.

Thanks for the feedback @mark555055c.
'Quick release things' for the aero piece? since when did they start to install these? What does that look like and can I get them from Tesla?

Here's how my aero attachment looks like. I think that's the old school which is apparently quite annoying to remove, put back (risk of losing screw in the tunnel storage cavity?)

They are installed in place of those star head bolts when service installs the tent. They are just just little spring loaded things that you push to release. They have been installing these for the past 7-8 months now at least.

These things, the left yellow arrow:

Does service installs every CyberTent? I thought you would just be receiving the package and it's a DIY thing. Or is that an option when taking delivery? Great to know that this upgrade would be part of the installation.

Now looking more interesting. Indeed the best integration out there so far.

Next time you camp, do you mind measuring the exact height available under the tent? I'm guessing it's about 14.5 inches, but would like to understand what we're dealing with exactly so I can think through my drawers situation.

Yeah, this is a mandatory service center install, shipped to your local service center.

You might be waiting a while. It's winter here in the northeast, so no camping for me until March or April. ? ? ? ?

cybertent is hard to beat, protected by the tonneau and still provides space under for cooking, gear, luggage

question: how do we get the heat piped in from the Breeze Window opening/vents? opening into the tent

This is a work in progress. Off the shelf 6x10’ drop stitch dock/gymnastics mat 4” thick. Electric linear actuator to alter angle of roof that will have solar flexible panels on it. Sides will be conventional fabric etc. top will have PVC skirt at glass roof interface. Strap attachment to cross bar to allow for pivot and angle alteration. Dual walled self supporting insulated roof! More work to do. Cheers.

I believe when you say it's work in progress ;) I'm not sure I understand exactly what your final product looks like besides the overall shape/approach. Good luck! And show us the end result when it's there... or in a more advanced phase. I'm sure there will be a lot to learn from your journey.
