While Idaho is not a huge oil producer compared to some, it is right next to Montana and Wyoming which do produce oil, and the companies up there certainly are pushing anti-EV rhetoric in those regions as much as possible within the perceived culture at home, in town, or in the workplace.

While gasoline comes from less than half or about 46% of a barrel of crude oil with the remaining used to make jet fuel and other products, EVs are apparently still considered a significant financial threat to big oil.

What's in a Barrel of Oil? The 42-Gallon Breakdown - Petroleum Service Company

However carcinogens in pollution from ICE vehicles threatening human health are much bigger concerns IMO, which I think we should try to reduce regardless of price or how cheap gas or diesel could be.

With the driving experience, I'd keep my Tesla even if gas fell to 10 cents per gallon and stayed there.

But I think there will be brain washed populations in these type states and regions for some time, because of the leverage that some corporations try to have on people in the form of economic factors and job/financial security with often a lack of other economies in those areas.

Hence the brain washed finger behavior and that's exactly what it is.

I used to get a lot of harassment in 2018-2020 in my model 3 but it seems to have trailed off. I guess they got tired of it now that there are too many to harass them all. CT will get there. Just the other day my wife had someone holler "F*** Tesla!" at her in her model S. The world is full of assholes and idiots, you are bound to bump into them time to time.

Agreed. I’ve had a model three since 2019 and back then pick ups would ride too closely behind me, etc., but seems to have faded at this point in New Jersey. There is many Teslas as anything else.

I'm fully expecting this along with vandalism. Hopefully limo tint and mirror/wiper removal will mitigate a fraction of the foolery.

That sucks, but the fact is that Tesla is eviscerating Ford, GM, and Chevy (or should I say that they are self eviscerating because they are trying to do the same old shit to the American public), and like so many they look to blame everyone but themselves for whatever it is that they fear.
They are? Last I checked the F-150 was outselling anything Tesla in the U.S.

Maybe stopping with the Hyperbole might change these people’s minds?

If you include all the variants, nationwide, sure.

But regionally... 16% of all cars sold in California last year were Tesla. More Model Y were sold than all F150 + GMC + RAM combined.

Any drivers experienced the middle finger by ICE truck drivers? Today I got a double whammy of the bird + a thumbs down. I really wonder how they would be if I was parked and we were both outside of our cars.

Note: I am one of the few FS CTs in northern Idaho.
Ha! Interestingly every middle finger I’ve gotten here in Salt Lake on the road so far has been from college aged kids.

Personally I find it funny.

I wouldn’t worry. Rednecks are inherently lazy cowards. To hassle you up close would require actually effort. Effort is not a skill set they possess.

I haven’t had that kind of reaction but I did get my first follower home today. He watched me turn into my neighborhood and followed me so he can get pictures. Your experience sucks. Takes a real a-hole to take the time to do that.
I might actually put a sign under my tonneau so I can tell people to stop following me on my way home. It's cool that people are excited to see it but if I don't know you, don't follow me at all. You don't know if I'm going home, and if I am, I don't want some random weirdo to know where I live.

Indeed. The world is indeed full of assholes and idiots.

Every time I get shit about my Tesla, I feel like going home and crying myself to sleep on the giant pile of money I’ve saved on gas…??

Exactly! I don’t mind showing folks the truck or letting them take pictures, most are respectful and ask. But not some random person getting a tour in my driveway. That rubbed me the wrong way but I felt obligated because it’s the CT.

Sure, but that’s expected. Like when the Corolla was outselling everything here.

I just find that as an odd argument.

These people that run around flipping off drivers don’t care about brands or how good a car is…. It’s politics to them…

Corolla was outselling the F150 across the country if you didn't count other models in the count, like Ford does.
