Great review. I honestly didn't know that the CT doesn't do the "x inches" until a wall when parking. I hope that's something they add soon, or else I'll crash into the back wall in my garage the first day I take it home!
like another said, front camera is great for pulling forward. It even auto activates so you don’t have to click the camera button. It’s turning that’s hard. The front camera doesn’t give me a good indication of where the sides are.

EDIT: agordon117 said 3/y already has this. So that’s a good sign it might be added. I don’t know about that stuff.

I assume the cameras would be able to pull it off though? Maybe I'm just praying, because I really would be awful at parking my current truck without the beeping warning and 360 camera. Tesla is king of technology, no way legacy auto should be a step ahead.
Yes, there are already vision based parking assist features on the 3/y vision only vehicles. They just haven't implemented any of the useful vision features on CT yet, into the 4th month since release.

Lost me at complaining about a rear view mirror. It's purpose is if you drive with the gate down. Removing it is less functional. Hilarious.

I fully agree on the proximity sensors. With that disappearing front end and limited vision out the back the Cybertruck really, really needs them.

Unfortunately I don’t see proximity sensors coming back. Tesla‘s mantra is the best part is no part.

Nice write up. I agree with most things you said except ride quality. I think CT has the best ride of all the Tesla’s I’ve owned (2 model 3s and 2016 model X). Do you have the height on medium? I started with low, but really enjoyed the comfort on medium.
Maybe a better way to say this is that I think ride quality over obstacles, like speed bumps, pot holes, etc is worse. Even at medium ride height. I feel those things more overall. My X seems to cushion them better, even in low.

That said, ride quality is good. It’s not uncomfortable at all. It’s cool if you still disagree, the ride quality is good, so probably no reason to argue over this much more.

And remember, he's comparing it to a crossover/SUV, not another truck. Have ANYONE who drives a truck regularly ride in it and hear what they have to say. It rides great! I forget what I driving a lot of the time (which never happened on anything else that rode on 35s)!

You don’t have to agree. But let’s not get snippy about it.

You are correct that if the tailgate is down, you have to keep the mirror on or you have nothing. This is a good point I didn’t think of.

In all other situations… Even with the tonneau cover open, the mirror visibility isn’t very good. Once it’s removed, I will stop trying to look at it and adjust faster to the screen mirror. I can also 3D print and mount a custom garage button in the hole to get rid of my remote.

This is true, it does ride better than ALL of my friends nice trucks. Thanks for reminding others I was comparing to the X.

Really in-depth review. I took delivery of mine a week ago as well, you are on point about everything here.

But the motor sounds do bother me due to the quieter cabin. Is yours a beast or awd?
I have the AWD model. I remember hearing that beast motors are louder?

Excellent post, with all of the points very well presented!

This was especially interesting to me, since I currently drive a Model-X.

My only personal concerns right now are the lack of a second display behind the steering wheel, and the vehicle length. Since I have awhile before my number comes up, I should get a chance to test drive one and make a final decision.

Thanks again for sharing!

it auto turns on? Hmm, maybe I am missing a setting…. It would be super useful if it automatically popped up

The bed is very smelly. Most likely will go away with off-gassing.

The attention is something else. Never really seen anything like it. People have followed me to ask if they can take pictures. Driving on the road people do let me out so they can see it so that is a positive haha

I am not 100% sure about this. A few times when I switched from reverse to drive inside my garage to align the truck better, the front camera automatically comes up. It doesn’t seem to do this in other situations. It’s possible it’s not that smart and I am just confused with how it works. But it has happened enough times that I thought it was sending what I wanted to do.
