Powershare update

After ordering CyberTruck I was planning to get powershare but since I already had Generac decided not to. TESLA was going to add. 6 months free supercharging to my account but instead I got this email today. Should I fight for the supercharging or get my shop credit?

I thought the Powershare hardware was worth a few thousand? But most anything would be better than the 6 months free supercharging.

Yes it is but the installation cost was 4k and very complicated for me since I own a transfer switch with Generac.

Understood, I'm waiting for my appointment next week to tell me how much they think it's going to cost. But it'd be nice if they at least would offer an amount equal to the hardware or let you have the hardware. I noticed on top of this they're warning you, it's a one-time only and if you don't spend it all at once the rest is forfeited. It just seems over the top.

How did you cancel the Powershare? I don't want it but the Tesla contracted electricians keep hounding me.

They. Initiate the email first and I was able to tell them I don't want it anymore.

Sure seems like Tesla is playing hardball on the powershare offer when you don't need it. I got my estimate Friday to install the powershare stuff and it was $5,500 with very few details. I've gone back to the electric company and asked for every detail about the install.

I saw from another owner, he declined powershare initially and got supercharging within 72 hours of taking delivery

The equipment you purchased as part of the $20k for the Foundation was about $2400 for the Universal wall charger and Gateway V3, if you got the Beast add another $4000. Tesla gave you a $700 voucher to be used at the Tesla Store doesn't sound good to me.

I definetely with you on this but $700 is not equal to all of it. but i had no other choice.

In your contract with Tesla under "Agreement to Arbitrate" you can email your dispute, I did this. They have 60 days to respond and if you disagree with their response you can go to small claims court.
This is the email I wrote Tesla:

I recently purchased a 2024 Cybertruck AWD VIN: 7G2CEHED0RA00XXXX. Before my delivery, I received a survey about the installation of the Powershare equipment. In the survey, I explained I would be moving in a few years and would like to hold off on installation. I received a call from the certified Tesla installer and explained my situation. They told me they needed to reach out to Tesla for further instructions. I never heard back.
On March 21, 2024, I received an email from Tesla stating my Powershare Home Backup was canceled and I would receive a $700 voucher. $700 is far less than the cost of the equipment purchased as part of the Foundation Series. The Universal Wall Charger costs $620 and the Powershare Home Backup (Gateway V3 est. $1300-$1800) with a total value estimated at $1920-$2420. This is far less than the $700 voucher issued.
I have attached a photo of what was included in the $20,000 Foundation Series. As you can see, a Universal Wall Charger and Powershare Home Backup equipment are part of the purchase price.
My suggested resolution is to provide Supercharging credit equivalent to the value of purchased equipment with an expiration date of 5 years from the date issued.
