I do have a question. Can I pick up the truck in other locations? I see someone drove across country to pick up, or some to Texas. Why do this?

Because their home area was not getting delivered to yet and Texas, FL and CA are getting them regularly. You don’t have to worry about that as you’ve gotten a vin and your order of 2/19 is pretty late to the game. So congratulations! The northeast is still waiting for many January config dates with no vins in sight yet.

Not sure what those are. Don't think so. I didn't do anything special if that's what you mean?

So people would jump ahead to pick up the truck? I just don't understand why someone would do all that. Pay extra taxes plus cost of driving and hotels.

I got extremely lucky. My best theory, outside of blind luck, is that I was right on with all of my theories. And they are hoping by getting me my truck, I'll disappear and stop telling people that the last jan-march orders won't be delivered until june.

And like, that's certainly less likely than just getting lucky. There are a lot of orders earlier than mine for AWD trucks that did not get this timeline.

TL: DR, I don't think that jan orders being delivered is the norm yet (outside of the chosen few states). I just got lucky.
