Im OCD for rust, not for dirty trucks...live in CO where winter and summer rain every afternoon = car never clean aka I wash my current truck after every snowstorm and rarely in summer (take dirt bike riding or camping every weekend so guaranteed to be dirty). If I still lived in CA or AZ it would be a bit closer to your statement but not 5-7 days...otherwise I'd just wrap it - which I don't want to do! But noted, if want very clean CA vehicle there's some maintenance with the keeping clean part!!!
yep....we have the daily smog drop...wash now and 3 hours later you have thin layer of atmospheric crap......i hate it......

forgot about that fun part of SoCal! Played Soccer in Anaheim in the early 80's, was it a good sign my lungs burned after 5 min of running?

Sounds like wrapping it might be the best bet! I like the stainless so don't want too, but until I have my truck it's speculation and I might be right there with you! I also bought that spray on coating that's on one of the posts on this forum....could be worth a try in your case! That or deal with it ....there's options, hope you find a way to enjoy the truck!!

ProtectaClear seems like a cheap coating to keep the surface free from rust and finger prints.

I have had my truck for 2 weeks 0 complaints. I have been in road salt, rain, and washed twice before. The other day I got a wash again and had rust spots all over the tailgate.

Disclaimer, the tailgate metal did not rust, the spots all appeared to be from metal that had stuck to the tailgate either from before the wash or from the wash.

Either way it was a bitch to get off. I used bar keepers friend, glass clean did nothing.
Most car washes are required to recycle water. Which means they're depositing a thin layer of dirt even if they're removing visible dirt. That may be more obvious on stainless steel.
