I hope the fix is simply removing the cover, cleaning the lube off and replacing the cover with a new pad. While the river works it does look bad and redesigning the cover with a mechanical retention clip will probably take longer than the NHTSA is going to want. Any interim rivet while they resign will become permanent because it is working and too expensive to fix twice.

I hope you realize this is not a widespread issue. You have to be flooring the pedal and also smacking it with such force to dislodge it that it’s rare. I don’t plan on going in to service unless there is some other issues to bundle. I drive the car sensibly and it has no problem.

Voluntary recall for all CTs currently on the road… but the issue only happened for those who CTs were assembled using this unapproved step (most likely Texas manufacturing techs trying to make that part faster for end of quarter push and not considering the consequences).

Interesting note—when Tesla filed the recall with NHTSA, they said 3,878 CT were shipped. With the VINS we are seeing seems a little off but I was always bad with math.

I knew it had to be the Canadians behind this!

Give your pedal a good shakedown while not driving and see where you are at… if it doesn’t come off or move, I think you are good to wait until May

My Cybertruck is in service today. Wonder if this can be done easily today or if I need a new appointment.

Same here. I dropped my truck off yesterday to fix the suspension alert that was repeatedly popping up, and hopefully balance the tires which were off balance since day one, and maybe replace the glove box since it rattles/squeaks like a 1980's sun baked dashboard, lol. But I did ask yesterday if they knew about the pedal issue, and whether existing customers will be called in to have their pedals replaced, and as of yesterday, they were not sure. I'm guessing we'll be called back later as they'd have to have the part on hand today to do the recall repair which I doubt will be the case.
