I'll bet the MSM and legacy auto shills spend over a hundred times more money trying to smear it - than Tesla spends to actually correct the minor problem :ROFLMAO: ...

For those interested, I suggest that you look up the NHTSA campaign #19V814000.
This is for a 2019-2020 Silverado.
Heading for the campaign reads “Fire after Seat Belt Pretensioner Deployment “.
The same vague language in the body exists for a repair-similar to the Tesla accelerator pedal.
The remedy for the repair listed in the NHTSA document is “Dealers will install a feature that will close off the opening in the pretensioner bracket so that exhaust gasses vent away from carpet material as designed.”
The “fix” is listed in the service bulletin issued to the dealership.
The revised version of N192270600 listed……
Aluminum foil tape-with listed specs- and a pop rivet (to “close off the opening in the bracket”.
Granted the customer does not see the repair as it is hidden under the carpet but the point is until the actual service repair documentation from Tesla to the service center is shown here we do not know if a 10 cent rivet is the fix…..
Even if it is, it would have to satisfy the NHTSA.
I could care less if a rivet is at the bottom of my accelerator pedal……
As a retired shop foreman for a General Motors dealership, many of the “repairs“ to “fix” a safety related item were a “band aid” on a gunshot wound-In my opinion……..

It wasn't really a flex that cause it. It slid upwards because it came loose. But yea I'm sure more common with the led foot friends

Decades ago, NASA engineers discovered to their horror that the assembly-line workers were spitting on the epoxy before installing heat-shield tiles, since it would cure faster. Unfortunately this also made for a weaker bond, forcing them to remove and reinstall the affected tiles.

I always try to respect processes that were instituted by people smarter than me. Doesn't happen to me often, tho :sneaky:

A rivet was the 1st thing I thought of when the problem was revealed. Personally don't see a problem with it. If you don't like the looks, just stick a picture of Yosemite Sam over it. ;-)

Back Off!

But it's round. They could have at least used a triangular rivet
