No.

I don't think he meant it as a Nazi salute. The guy has autism and he isn't a great speaker, he unfortunately messed up. Double unfortunately people don't mind making fun of someone with a disability if they are rich, which is pretty disgusting.

...but anyway, if other CT owners start emulating this "heart to the crowd," things will get real ugly real quick. Don't do it.
Elon didn't mess up a single thing. What is messed up is lying about what someone said or did, and the context around it.

I disagree. As was reported all those people wanted a basic truck. Elon made them produce this or face the consequences. Now we have our stainless steel tank that will be ready for anything to come.
From what I’ve heard, Elon did NOT initially want steer-by-wire or rear-wheel steering. The amazing team at Tesla talked him into it.

I like Tesla vehicles (minimalist interier, amazing software, FSD supercharger network etc.)and I wanted a truck. I like the Steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering. I love the vault cover, the suspension and the power outlets. Other than that, I think I would have preferred a “basic truck”. The stainless doesn’t do anything for me, or the unconventional truck shape. I was seriously thinking of going Rivian. But their software is so inferior.

Elon did not personally make the Cybertruck, or any other Tesla vehicle. Tesla as a company makes the Cybertruck. While he may have been in charge of the company and is known to be more hands-on than most CEOs, he’s still just one person. Elon no more made the Cybertruck than Jim Farley made the Mustang Mach-E.

I had the same concerns before, but I don’t care anymore. CT has become a common thing in the Bay Area now. I even parked in SFO downtown public parking, and nobody bothered to even look at it. One thing I would suggest is to not wrap or do something more than the bare bones to call for more attention. The classic stainless steel would make it one of many. If you go crazy with color and accessories, it’ll stand out more. The last thing CT needs is more attention. Just buy and keep it simple, at least for now. CT is ridiculously strong and intimidating. As @CyberGus said, someone’s key will get damaged before scratching CT’s surface.

CT will continue to rock the market in 2025. If people who love it chicken out, then who will support innovation and next AI revolution in the automotive industry? You will absolutely not drive any other vehicle once you get this magnificent machine! I can guarantee you that much! Take a leap of faith and join the club. Many will be doing that in 2025! ?

My wife and I came out of the grocery store to find a banana peel tossed on the vault cover of our CT. No harm, but obviously someone was jealous. :D
They hated it enough to do that, but not enough to do worse!

Then I wonder who wanted 48V architecture? Because that is what makes all of the above possible.

We really should salute each other like Elon threw out his heart to the crowd. Deep down inside we all think like Elon which is why we purchase his products to support his and his quest to help humanity.
Admins wtf?

If we’re gonna allow the politics of this gesture to be “subtly” discussed then things are gonna get real ugly, real fast.

I promise! ?

robably hates Elon way more now and the cybertruck. Is this a cause of concern? I really wanted to buy it!
The fact that he's openly calling for ... well, very bad things to happen... and play acting the guys who made very bad things happen...

Is it hate when it's deserved?

He should leave Tesla if he's going to do this stuff instead of showing up at work.

Anyhow, if you're worried about it, don't buy the truck. That's the correct action when someone is unpleasant - you don't associate with them.

Otherwise, get a bumper sticker protesting his behavior.

Rear-wheel-steering is obviously possible with a 12V system. Just look at GM.

Steer-by-wire is also obviously possible with a 12V system. When in FSD/Autopilot the computer is essentially steering via wire. None of the other Teslas need 48V to make that possible.

The 12 volt systems are less efficient, but are certainly possible.

Steer by wire means there's no physical link. Neither GM nor the other Teslas can do that.

Somebody does this “salute” in my vicinity or general direction - and we’re gonna have f-ing problems; I’ll tell you that right f-ing now!

Asperger’s or not; it’s not safe!

I don’t think anybody wants to actually have this “discussion,” but what’s good for the goose is good for the fucking gander, so if we’re gonna talk about it then we’re REALLY gonna talk about it.

Is this what we’re doing admin? Prefer to keep the party polite, but I’ll take it as it comes! ?
