Yeah, the X beating the S in the 1/4? Something was massively wonky.

Beast has higher air resistance plus lower top speed.

It really shook down how you'd expect it to - at the narrow band of performance you end up with things like driver reaction time being the bigger variable.

I don’t think my CB should beat my S Plaid or the X; but no way that X should’ve beat that SPlaid!

The 52% battery thing is interesting, but I’m not sure what that loss was all about. Traction (X has four-wheel-drive and more mass)? Tires? Maybe he really did cook them too much at the beginning when they were drifting. The X did just drive in a circle.

Well, they put the professional driver (Sam - he also hates electric cars) in the slowest car, but all of those guys own various supercars and are, at least, competent amateur racers.

No one was unqualified for that race. The task is simple, keep it straight push the go pedal. Every one of those guys can effectively launch on McLaren a Lambo; they can drag a Tesla.

Also: The update about Yanni’s CT and his backup plan was interesting (to me, at least).

Just saw this video and something is fishy. I don’t think Yanni launch it correctly and/or put it in beast mode. I’ve seen plenty of videos on YT where CB made the quarter mile in 10 not 12 seconds. I looked up the numbers for 3P and it’s not as good as CB. Even if CB has a limiter it wouldn’t matter in the quarter. Maybe after the quarter.

I think that’s possible - Yanni does screw up frequently when he’s not driving a Lambo. But, remember their race is to a half mile, so, that speed limit is definitely going to show up and he looks like he’s where he should be with a 0 to 60 at 2.6 seconds until the limit hits.

The S is the one that’s acting fishy, imo.

Worse yet? That’s a UK Hyland M3P which is about as fast as a US pre-Hyland M3P. That’s why I settled on keeping my ‘20 M3P instead of getting a Cyberbeast; practically, it’s really not that much faster [than my M3P].
