Same here I don't quite understand what version 2025.2.8 refers to? Does it replace 2024.45.32.20?
Yes. The firmware numbering scheme is a common one in software development.

2025 = year
.xx = the week number of that year
.xx.xx = bug fixes

The reason for this is it’s based on the year and week a software “build” was created. If that passes testing, etc, then it’s released.

So, the 2025.2.8 build means it was a build from the 2nd week of 2025.

Hope that helps!

Some good additions in 2025.2.8
  • Rear cross traffic notification
  • Android frunk auto-open
  • Windshield wiper fluid dispensing improvement (yay!) - more fluid dispensed after second sweep
  • Third party fast chargers preconditioning
Includes 13.2.8 FSD
I don’t like X but I had to respond and say that I hope the windshield wiper spray change will help but that I have my doubts. I find that even after plenty of washer fluid has been sprayed the passenger side of the windshield never gets clean (or even close). I suspect that Tesla would have to change the nozzle spray pattern so that the entire path is wetted on each pass. As everyone knows, the nozzle spray is a narrow stream and so there are several streaks that get wet. It takes many sweeps to move that washer fluid everywhere and most of it just ends up coating the sides of the car. The upper portion of the wiper blade simply doesn’t have enough downward pressure to clean anything that isn’t thoroughly wet.

Great to see them actively working on it. I’m guessing this is a stop gap improvement, and they’re going to see what feedback is like from owners. If still bad, they’ll continue on improving the design. I’m excited to try it out.

One issue is: the last foot of the blade doesn’t have enough pressure against the windshield.
More than a foot.

I ran low on washer fluid. I remember reading somewhere that fluid with water repellent shouldn’t be used with the camera being cited as the reason - the film can obstruct it. So instead of a RainEx mix I got Windex. Significantly different list of ingredients. And remarkably it works much better, including less of the striped windshield problem. The first time, it took a bit longer to cut through the RainEx gummy coat, but since then, much better. I also quit using treatment options at the touchless carwash. ??

I have never used any rain X and it still streaks on my windshield.
They should have it spray on the way down so that water can spread out and cover more of he area for the return trip of the wiper. Then spray on the way up.

I believe that is exactly what they changed. Wiping only on the way up meant it never had enough pressure to spray well on the passenger side. This change reads like it sprays continuously starting with the 3rd sweep.

Maybe that’s why the Windex works better, it does spread out.

They should make the sprayers in a fan pattern instead of just a jet pattern

I had my truck in for service this week and had the wiper fluid low dispensing issue mentioned on my ticket. They replaced it with a new updated blade and it resolved the issue finally. I asked the SC and they said it was a known issue with the older original designed wiper blade. My truck is early VIN for what it is worth.

I am using Rain X Deicer fluid and it’s working for now.. However I found that many Tesla owners (on other forums) are recommending the BMW concentrated liquid. They say it comes out easier and more consistent along with no streaking. Also has deicer mixture built in too. I plan to swap to it once this Rain X runs out.
BMW fluid(best price I could find at this time):

I remember this working great when purchasing a new BMW, but when it ran out I defaulted to Rain X as a habit. So giving it a shot again. It does have a great smell to it also.
Amazon does have it for much more too if that’s more convenient:

BMW Windshield Washer Concentrate (1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PYLFM4O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_BPok49WHACoEo

I hope this helps others!

Do you have any pictures of what your old wiper was doing to windshield? I got a "revised" blade too but it was no better.... I wonder if some people are complaining about the new blade... Can you show a picture of your old windshield streaks? Please :)

I'm using Krystall Klar concentrate and it seems to work ok.

I refuse to smell like a BMW ?
