Got my cantrail done while the recall notice was announced 3 weeks ago.... bad result.. will be taking it back to fix it again fornthe 3rd time... posted on a different thread... but here are the pictures again showing the POST-REPAIR work. Totally disappointed. But the good news is that the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, offer to re-fix that right away... i want go wait a few months once the technician can practice their techniques on other recalled trucks first. Noticeablely, the heat tint is just wild and unacceptable!
That is a terrible job.

I got mine right after the replacement. You cannot tell the difference from an unfixed one, the changes are all internal.
So happy to hear that ?

This is a current photo of my driver's side rail, so I am looking forward to replacement, but on my recent service visit I was told that I may not qualify because the rail isn't loose.

What VIN range are you in? I’m in VIN 2800 range and no problems with cantrails at all since delivery March 2024. Not going to SC either if they come back looking like the photos on this thread. Heck no.

I don’t have before pictures, but they were very flush and fit, as I inspected them for being loose.

Replaced on April 3rd.

The after pictures look “not good” in my view. Have not had time to go back to complain yet.

Same. The passenger side is perfectly aligned. I pointed this out at delivery because there was also a piece of plastic sandwiched behind the corner, and I was told that this is just because the rails come wrapped in plastic and it was not taken off all the way. I later asked about aligning the rail and was told that while it is possible to remove it and readjust, there is a risk that it could bend, so I decided to do nothing. Hopefully this rail can be redone as part of the recall, although I would rather have the overlap than heat marks.

Seems like it would be smarter for Tesla to let us take the trucks to body specialists to do the cantrails and give us a credit somewhere. My CT was not part of the recall and I've only been to the SC to pickup my spare tire but even that was a little painful with the level of care the techs used to load my tire in. I'm in NY.

Mine have been absolutely fine over the last year and almost 21,000 miles. I’m sure they’ll sneak in the replacement whenever they can, but I’m not going to jump through my ass to get the truck to an SC any time soon to get them replaced.
Same here. Knock on wood. Actually, mine has been perfect. Minus one thing with the driver’s seat. However, they repaired it and it’s been great ever since. I do have to go to the SC at the end of the month but not for any repairs. My off-road lights are in and having them install it.

Please post pictures, good or bad, of your CT or CB showing before (if possible) and after your cantrails have been fixed by Tesla.
Also, please objectively comment on your impressions of the outcome, if you are willing. Please no love or hate, just the facts, maam!
Also would be useful to know which Tesla Center did the repairs .
And thank you!
If I understand issue for Recall, is mainly “adhesive” used is failing allowing can tails to loosen and blow off, requiring replacement. I have checked my CT and can’t see any movement and/or loosening. I have an appointment 04/24 but after seeing these pictures, I think I am going cancel and “blow off” recall completely. Has anyone experienced cantail working loose and/or peeling off.

I refused Delivery of a truck that was in stock at the store, after the recall was done. The alignment was horrible, and I await delivery of a new cyber beast, which supposedly is coming from the factory, without having the recall done. My hope is that the alignment is better coming from the factory

This is not looking good. This is why I will not allow Tesla to touch my cantrails until they have this sorted out, or until they fall off.
