I did my first "long-range" CT road trip on April 8 to north of Minnesota, Giants Ridge ski area.
Total round trip was 436 miles, temp was around 30F (below freezing point).
I stopped to charge once on the way to destination and once on the way back.
I did charge CT all way up to 100% for the trip.
I did experience range anxiety and it kinda saved me big time. While charging in the morning at Carlton Supercharger at Black Bear Casino, CT estimate was that charging to 67% would be enough to continue trip. but anxiety made me ask the q-n: "How about making it back to Tesla charger?" So I kept on charging until 90%. It took about 40 minutes to go from 36% to 90%.
After driving 75 miles at destination battery was at 50%. So that was hopefully enough to drive 75 miles back to Supercharger.
At 6pm we were ready to go back, battery was at 46% and range estimating about 125 miles, but navigation estimate was showing 8% battery at arrival to the Supercharger (75 miles distance).
On the way back I did charge again all way up to 90% as I didnt want to do additional stops.
This trip came out roughly to 2 miles per 1% of battery.
