I think it might depend on where you live. Here in Cheyenne with a multi-policy discount and being in our 40s with good driving history it’s shockingly inexpensive.
Yep. In western Washington, my insurance for the CyberBeast is about the same as the 2018 Ford Expedition I traded in for it.

I love it but seriously if I knew how much shit I would be getting for it I would not have bought it a year ago… people thinking I’m a sympathizer to the crap that’s going on is annoying and having to get a finger or shouted at or thumbs down for it every day gets tiring Or worried my kids will hear it or that I can’t drive to certain cities cause it will get vandalized… I think all the happy people are in Texas or somewhere related (and I live in central Pennsylvania, some conservative pickup drivers hate it too). Can’t imagine only getting good compliments, a year ago it was so different.

100%, but hindsight being 20/20, I'd wait to pickup an FS AWD w/ free supercharging. :)

Insurance isn't bad:
'24 Model Y: $86.61/month (inc OEM parts, repair or replacement coverage)
'24 Cybertruck FS AWD: $89.97/month (inc OEM parts, repair or replacement coverage)
'15 BMW i8: $81.61/month
'01 Audi TT Quattro: $32.44/month (comp only)

That's 300/300/100, 4 vehicles, 2 drivers.

Considering the relative value of the i8 (way lower than the CT or even the Y) and the OEM/replacement coverage on the 2 Teslas, the insurance is shockingly cheap.

The cybertruck replaced a 9yr old ram 3500 HO cummings:

72k cost in 2016
25,000 diesel fuel over 9 years at $3/gal(being generous here)
2900 in oil changes
2300 in diesel fuel filters

I broke the yes button.

Absolutely yes. Only thing I might suggest to my younger self is wait a few months for the rebate. Ordered mine in October and [minimally] banked on EV credits going away.

But if I could only say to my younger self yes or no, without any details, still 100% yes.

I'm in central PA too! It's mixed reaction from my experience. If I see a hand go up it could be one of the following:

A thumbs up
A thumbs down
A wave
A middle finger

Not in any particular order.

I've had it for about 5 weeks now. Originally I got the middle finger surprisingly often. It seems like it has died down some lately. It doesn't bother me much because I couldn't care less what people that I don't know think. But it does suck when I have my kids (15, 13, 10, 8) with me and they get to see these people flip us off for no reason other than for driving a Cybertruck. No matter their reasoning for hating the truck, I'm not sure what makes them think what they're doing (flipping off a family) is any better.

BTW, I'm a "YES" to buying again! Great vehicle, not all great people.

(Note, i am NOT a hater…please see my previous posts…but just want to list as many negatives as i can think of so to get an accurate answer. And yes, i have been researching A LOT and know that there are MANY positives about CT…but just want to push people to give honest answer.)

Nope, just listing the negatives indicates you are a hater. Perhaps unintentionally, but without listing the CT good points - pretty much a hater.
