Sharing my exterior Starlink Mini setup that's been working great:

- Mounted using four 120lb magnets (two per side of glass) in a custom design
- Power cable runs discreetly between trim to truck outlet

Stress tests (accidental):
1. Went through full car wash - held strong
2. Took direct hits from Stihl BR809 blower (239 MPH claimed) - didn't move

No interior space used, perfect for backseat passengers. No drilling or adhesives - just pure magnetic hold.

Happy to share more details or photos if helpful.

For those who prefer keeping things inside, here's my alternate setup:

- Mounts either Starlink Mini or standard dish on interior glass (custom-designed mounts)
- Power cables routed cleanly behind rear seats to 120V outlet
- Zero exterior modifications needed

Benefits:
- Protected from weather/wash damage
- Maintains Cybertruck's clean exterior look
- Easy access for adjustments

I've used both this and my exterior magnet mount - each has its advantages depending on your needs. The interior version is great for daily drivers who want maximum protection.

I’ve noticed a lot of Starlink setups placed inside the cabin—has anyone actually experienced zero signal loss? Have you tested the performance inside versus outside in a remote or desolate location?

I’ll start by admitting I’m 100% biased—die-hard MARS fanboy here. Their gear is top-notch, their designs are dialed in, and their customer service? Life-changing. Honestly, I should probably be on their payroll by now @Mars Adventure Gear ?

At first, I thought my setup was loud… until I rode in someone else’s CT rocking a competitor’s full rack. Bro, it sounded like my wife yelling at me for two straight hours—pure trauma on wheels.

Right now I’m running the full MARS rack system, 50" lightbar, cross bar, Starlink attachments, and a rooftop tent that just came. It’s basically an overlanding spaceship and I wouldn’t trade it for anything hahah.

So no problems with noise at 70 mph with all your mars gear attached?

I just got Tesla OEM bars but thinking it was the wrong decision.

There’s a bit of wind noise, sure—but inside the cabin, it’s barely noticeable. I’ve been in a few Cybertrucks with different rack setups, and some of them sounded like a howling banshee. That’s what happens when companies skip proper R&D and testing.

MARS might be on the higher end price-wise, but you’re paying for science-backed engineering and a team that’s genuinely committed to innovation and their customers—not just another manufacturer cranking out parts. That’s why I ultimately went with them.

No issues with install inside. Highway speeds, Colorado mountain roads, all good. Zoom/ Teams meetings without issue.

Just reporting back after a little use. Starlink works just fine up in my dash. Live in Phoenix and no issues with overheating. I did get one overheat message when I came back to the car one day but that was because I ran the battery down and cabin overheat protection was disabled.

Just out of curiosity—how do you keep your wires safe from hanging over into the truck bed? Or do you just roll the dice and hope some bored anti-hoodlum doesn’t decide to slice them for fun? I’m not leaving it while grocery shopping or anything, but sometimes I gotta stop for a minute—grab something, take a leak, you know, normal human stuff.

How did you route this to inside the cabin?

Yeah. I keep it dc too. Tried something like that but it didn’t work. Think the usb-c is underpowered. Not actually sure why.
I use this but anything similar would work.

should be good for 100w and the dish I think I've only seen it pull peak 44w and kinda rest at 28w.

I don’t know why it’s the case but try plug your mini directly into a cybertruck usb-c. Mine will not do it. It may be voltage rather than power related.

Cybertruck USB-C are 65W max, but may be less if all three are in use (per manual).
Mini calls out 20V/5A 100W PD when using the Tesla adapter, but also says it only uses 60W on 12-48V.
