In light of the highly publicized issues with Cybertruck egress following a crash, why couldn't Tesla just programmatically open doors in event of crash? I'm pretty sure the actuators are on the low voltage bus. I've just been thinking about how miserable it must be to be unconscious in a burning car and no one can get you out.

Dumbest idea I’ve read in a very long time. Why not just install passenger ejection devices too, eliminate crush zones, airbags, seat belts? Because for any of these devices to work effectively, the doors need to stay latched and intact.

All currently manufactured Teslas have mechanical handles for emergency opening from the interior. No exceptions.

I guess you think a Tesla is "Perfect"
Never said get rid of any safety equipment. I think you missed the qualifier in the event of a crash, didn't think I would need to spell out; not during a crash, but after the vehicle is immobilized and at rest.

Of course keeping a passenger inside a car is safer... and Next-Of-Kin can save money on cremation services.

As stated doesn't really help if your unconscious.

Ok let's say Tesla could lower the windows if the inside camera detected smoke in the cabin, again following a crash and if the vehicle has been immobilized. Just a thought

Don’t be a jerk. The OP has very valid points. I LOVE my CyberTruck. My only concern is getting trapped in a wreck with no easy way for bystanders to open the doors if I’m incapacitated or trapped.

I gave everyone in my family a stocking stuffer a couple years ago - If you are worried, get this - $10 solves the fear. https://resqme.com/product/resqme/?...GTRyuMUmvjRxirwE00X3Jk3AlVQGwjmrvrMCy8k&gQT=1

Nice thought, but will not work on the Cybertruck. From the requme website: " Tempered glass is commonly used in rear and side car windows. The resqme® tool does NOT work on laminated glass. Laminated windows which are typically used for windshields can also be found on some car models."

False sense of security, since these do not work as most people think they do on laminated glass. You would need to make probably 25 punches and then kick the window out once you have weakened it enough.

To egress from a modern vehicle, you need a hammer with pointed tip, and a folding saw to cut through the plastic layers.

Then the headline will read:

"Thieves find a way to break into Tesla vehicles following exploit that makes the car think it's been in a wreck."

There are likely dozens of other reasons we could come up with, but I'm trying to think of a scenario in which this would work:

If [any airbag deploys], [unlock all doors], [auto-dial 911], and [display message on screen with instructions].

All cars i know of stay locked after a wreck. Its just that cars with laminated windows are harder to get into than cars without laminated windows. The engineering needed to make it so that doors open automatically after a wreck would be very costly. A lot of newer cars from Mercedes, BMW, Honda, and GMC have double laminated glass as well, so this is not a cybertruck only problem. The thing that is unique to tesla is having rear door manual opening devices that are hidden from view. This makes it necessary to train people on the location of the opening device which many would argue is more dangerous than a standard car.

They are not valid points at all. Automatic opening doors after a crash? Seriously? This is total clickbait. It is just as valid to worry about finding yourself in an underwater situation - you are just as trapped, maybe moreso. Again, if you worry about being trapped, learn the manual opening systems or get a rescue hammer. The ResQ will not work on the windshield or side windows, but should work on the rear glass.

AFAIK, a collision results in #1 and #2 already. But it would cost exactly nothing to display this on the main screen:

Tesla Cybertruck Can Tesla make the Cybertruck safer? Tesla Owners are Making Their Own Emergency Door Releases IMG_1066

and this on the rear screen:
