Cant rail recall letter

First off, that's a horrible name for a car part!
when I first read the name, I thought it was something like chemtrails that fall from the sky.
I received the recall notice for the cant rail today. The date on the letter is May 19, but I got it on May 28
informing me of the recall, but also telling me they don't have the parts yet, so I must wait for them to notify me.
That doesn't surprise me. What I am surprised about is that this is the first time Tesla has mailed me any information via postage.
and I've had my truck since Sep. 15, 2024
No offers, no marketing, or any other important information like other recalls.
Is this normal for Tesla?

It may be an unattractive term but you can't blame Tesla, or even the car industry, for it.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the term "cant rail" dates back to at least 1871, and it originally meant "A timber or other stiffening member which supports the roof of a railway carriage".

I, also, received the letter and when it got to the part that said, "we ain't got no parts ta fix it" I sort thought, "why send me a letter that you are not prepared to act upon an issue you are warning me about"?...like, 'Duhhhhhh'. I saved it as the entertainment factor was extraordinary.

Sorry, it just struck me as significantly bizarre but in hindsight, it might just be ticking a box for government requirements.

I received the letter also but my cant rails appear to be in good shape. They are aligned nicely and would hate to see them come back mis-aligned. Wonder if its a must do.

Same here, plus mine are wrapped. We have a philosophy at the North Pole, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it…standard common sense rule for middle America.

Got mine and I'm waiting too.

Tesla won't mail you anything unless a recall is issued, then you get the letter as req'd by the Feds. At least this one is something needing to be "fixed" - many or most of the letters are NHSTA required for software updates.
Tesla will email you with promotions.....not USPS

Yes, I too received the letter. The cant rail is still holding on mine. Left one is a bit loose at the end by rear door. I got duct tape ready till they call for replacement.

They replaced mine already- I had a service appointment to install my light bar and a few other things. I told them the drivers side Cant Rail looked like it was misaligned and coming loose. They said it wasn't recalled yet ...but they went ahead and replaced them...I had the truck wrapped 8 months ago and now its two toned..What do you all think? Leave it or re-wrap?
