I finally found a way to make the bed of CT waterproof! After trying several methods of seals, I found one that can snugly fit in the existing channel and cover the gap. See pics and search on Amazon for the seal product. Totally works even through the carwash.

Nice find! Is that near the tailgate or near the roof?

Can you redo your pictures please??!! I can’t tell exactly what you’re trying to show because of things on, or around, the truck.

You can ask a service center to add the extra slat. It is a laborious procedure though. If you are very far from a Service center this solution here would do.

The extra slat doesn't make it more or less waterproof. It's the seal before the slat. Mine is "missing the slat" and I've made mine completely waterproof is new weather stripping. Those holes don't feed into the bed.

Is that the back by the tailgate? Hard to tell but looks like it. Mine is perfectly sealed there but leaks at the roof slat. Told them about it in the many 30+ days at SC-it was within spec but is missing the slat. So she’s moist when it rains and flat out wet after a car wash.

This is great. It looks as though that new weather stripping piece is installed near the wide trim near the apex of the truck on the top/front end of the bed, but the photo could be of the trim that runs along the top of the tailgate. MikeFromHolland Can you please confirm? Also, how does it install? Is it screwed into place?

Hohenzollern Can you please give some detail on this? Can one order an extra slat from the service center and have them install it and, if so, is this something that you think all service centers are aware of or is it something that you twisted someone's arm to get done?

I'm surprised that seal fixed the leaking for you. Most posts I have seen on here indicate that the problem is the seal behind that, close to the window that is the problem. Tesla has a service bulletin where they will install another slat to cover those holes and make it look more finished, but as SCTesla said, that doesn't fix the leak. Someone on here posted a video showing how they fixed the leaking with an inexpensive seal from the hardware store placed under the applique near the back window.

Yes, for me the leak was where the roof glass met the aeroflap. Easily tested by opening the tonneau and pouring a glass of water on the roof glass. I could see it pour in before it got to the aeroflap. I fixed it for months with electrical tape, and then 'upgraded' to windshield seal tape.

This was after two attempts by the service center.

Where exactly did you stick the rubber strip? Thanks!

How was this installed? Looking at your photo and the photo on Amazon, it looks like the adhesive side is supposed to be facing down?
If that’s true, what is it stuck too?
