I tell them that the day before it was announced, there was a Ford recall for 500,000 vehicles that could CATCH FIRE. Had they heard of that? After they say no, I tell them that only 3,000 Cybertrucks were affected, and only 2 actually had the problem. They usually go "wow".

For anyone new to Tesla, this kind of stuff has been going on for years. I was just hoping it was finally fading away...

Our Cybertrucks are the man bites dog story of the day. If the ALLEGED current 1000 CTs per week being made in Austin is true ... in 18 months Cybertrucks will be as common as fleas ... and the less than newsworthy notariety will, like all things, pass.

Having lived through the FUD wars of 2018-2019, the motivation for the FUD is a culmination of all previously mentioned (summarized below):

• Tesla not advertising on MSM, which every other auto manufacturer does heavily
• Tesla not having dealerships, who also heavily advertise on MSM (local)
• Anything Tesla gets clicks/views vs. any other auto maker
• State rules are created by local dealers and dealer associations against Tesla, since they do major lobbying and are a direct threat/competition
• Short sellers and stock manipulators
• Big Oil literally makes billions of dollars more by delaying the adoption of EVs by even a single day

It's crazy how much is against Tesla! The main reason it hasn't worked is because it's such a great product!!

Also, all of the above have NOTHING to do with politics or what Elon Musk says/Tweets, and were just as true today as they were 5+ years ago. Those obviously have an impact as well (plus/minus depending on group/political leanings), but wanted to just point out the ones that are completely one-sided.

These people are SO CORRECT about media and Cybertruck Critics, and Musk Haters reveling in a Cybertruck recall that’s actually more than an OTA fix!
But can I say that the plastic/fake metal accelerator pedal clip ons are beneath Tesla quality. I hope this phony shockwave causes Tesla to install quality metal racing pedals on CTs.

rest assured it’s temporary, as a community we have had to deal with recall FUD, Battery replacement cost FUD, Spontaneous Combustion FUD & we got through them all!!! We’ll get through this too. Head up Brother, head up

I have stopped believing US Main Stream Media years ago….hoping more people start to do the same. US Main Stream Media at its best simply over sensationalizes everything in the name of increasing their ratings and at its worst targets individuals or companies that don’t align with their beliefs. Real journalism is too costly and many times those doing the journalism have personal bias that impedes and biases the real story.

I’m still waiting for:
1. Killer bees to take over the US
2. Inability to go outside without a gas mask due to pollution
3. Global flooding that was supposed to be here a decade ago
4. Ice age coming (this was promoted in 70s)
5. Getting international stories so wrong or not covering international stories at all that don’t align with their interest(even when other international news is covering).
6. The list goes on and on…

Sad state of affairs with our Media….educating people on these Mass Media falsehoods…time and time again will ultimately prove out to population to take anything that Mass Media says with a grain of salt or simply tune their BS out all together.

Re "flooding" no one said, not even MSM, that flooding would be a decade away, though many have said we only have a decade to prevent the dominos from falling. It does seem like it is now too late. Even if we stopped all the anthropogenic CO2 now there's still going to be significant sea level rise by the end of the century. The negative feedback loops like the ice melt creating darker surfaces causing more infrared retention, causing more melting.

If you do follow Tesla, you must know even Musk acknowledges and is trying to prevent AGW.

I agree, it's weird how this stuff spreads. Every podcast I listen to, even the ones with (normally) the most nuanced takes... as soon as the news turns to tesla, they just repeat whatever fake news they hear without any verification. All of the problems tesla actually has, and they have to resort to lies to push their agenda. It's super weird. I'm getting so sick of hearing the lie about how a truck wasn't put into carwash mode and so it bricked from a light rinsedown.

I tell my friends that Tesla is doomed because of all negative media. More negative media than anything and it’s very simple the reason. Both sides of political spectrum going against Tesla with very powerful people. Ones side are freedom of speech haters and the other are oil lovers.

True, there is that. But the thing is if Musk wasn't Musk we wouldn't have the Cybertruck or Tesla at all for that matter. Or SpaceX, or Neuralink, or The Boring Company. He's a bit of a mad genius but the world is better off with him in it.

He was much less vocal until the politicians that he had supported got into power and turned on him, Tesla and SpaceX. That said, the FUD is spewed out mostly due to the fossil fuel juggernaut, traditional auto that can't compete and the blood sucking dealer network. Disruption always fuels anger from those being disrupted.
