Well, they have to keep up if theyāre going to be considered ābetter.ā They may be less naggy, but that sounds like the only pro so far. They got stuck on an enhanced autopilot type system while FSD can do everything now.
You really canāt compare something that can only drive on divided highways to FSD which will figure out crazy construction zones, city streets, stop signs, and traffic lights.
Donāt get me wrong, Iām open to and interested in all auto makersā various versions of ADAS, but youāve sent me down a research rabbit hole and I simply canāt be be impressed by this whatsoever, even if it is less naggy.
You lost me pretty early on in that nonsense⦠I look forward to unsupervised FSD, but am a realist and know that there are steps that need to be taken to get it there, so Iām in it for the long run and am happy with what I have now.
The prediction of unsupervised FSD by the end of 2025 was clearly for the 3/Y, not CT. We wonāt get it by the end of the year, and we were never promised such a thing. But your praised Toyota system is a huge step down IMO but if youād be happier with that, by all means do what makes you happy.
Ah, so itās better at what it does, now weāre getting somewhere. Alright, if you have experienced both and say Toyotaās system is better on a divided freeway, Iāll accept that. But Iāll stand by the fact that FSD is a more useful system overall, since it does infinitely more than Toyotaās.
Anyone who watched the We, Robot event and had any common sense knew this fact. Per your other replies, youāre an experienced Tesla owner. You should be able to speak Elon by now.
Grok isnāt anything special in my experience. Sometimes itās good, other times it gives some pretty stupid answers. Nothing it says can be cited as a source yet.
It doesnāt come down to the hardware, it comes down to efficient inference compute. CT has its own FSD stack due to being a larger vehicle with more tech like SBW/4WS. Itās its own animal, and it will take a while for it to catch up. If you donāt use it because it annoys you, youāre delaying unsupervised FSD for the rest of us. Thatās your right and all, but quit whining about it to those of us putting in the time.
All (almost all) ADAS systems are just that: Level 2 Driver Assist. Which means the driver should be paying attention. Which means you get nagged when you're not.
Otherwise, you get sued.
A jury orders Tesla to pay more than $240 million in Autopilot crash
[Attorney] Schreiber acknowledged that the driver, George McGee, was negligent when he blew through flashing lights, a stop sign and a T-intersection at 62 miles an hour before slamming into a Chevrolet Tahoe that the couple had parked to get a look at the stars...
But Schreiber said Tesla was at fault nonetheless. He said Tesla allowed drivers to act recklessly by not disengaging the Autopilot as soon as they begin to show signs of distraction...
