So, back to the topic at hand, does anyone know how they actually “adjust” them?
Where is the bolt they put in and does it actually move the cantrail or do they loosen it and wack it with a rubber mallet or what?

So for those of you with racks like mars or urander or Cybertruckco, that has to affect how the rack mates with the car no?
I've got the Mars rack (same as Dalton, I think), and it sits on blocks that lift it above above the cantrails so don't think there's any effect.

I did ask them if they wanted me to remove the rack before the cant rail replacement, and they said "yes please!". But I think that was just for ease of access to applique they probably need to remove to get to the rail bolts.

After my stream of pics and whining in the app last night after pickup, they apologized this morning and set an appt to work on it again in 10 days (next available).

Sucks, but at least it's just cosmetic. (I keep telling myself that....)

I don’t know about that though. Mine has some really sharp corners I don’t want my kids putting hands on. What about if I want to put a car cover on? I’m betting Tesla won’t reimburse me when it shreds the $200 cover they sell.
And washing? watch how you run your hands up and down the car so as not to shred your cloth or worse, hurt yourself. I ran it through an automatic car wash the other day and left with a piece of the brush between the two panels. Not okay for a car this expensive IMHO.
Thats why I was asking about the racks. Seems to me a misadjusted cantrail could result in some pretty ugly and aerodynamically unfriendly gaps. Probably not a structural issue but ghetto nonetheless.

All good points. Fortunately, I don't have kids and I never wash my truck. :)

For me, I think it's the ghetto part that bothers me most. It's just janky looking. And the fact that service was ok with this (and the other instances we've been seeing) is really bad.

I'm guessing a Tesla-certified collision center could fix it, if the Tesla service center can't.

Very good point about the collision center. Hadn’t considered that.
If I may also volunteer, I recently just wrapped my car before the “adjustment” because Tesla was taking too long and I had a good wrap deal lined up. Fwiw, the wrap made the problem WAY less conspicuous visually. More dangerous though for the same reason.

This is a timely post from Tesla:

" In few service locations, started to share local and regional leader contact information via service in-take in mobile in-app messages so customers can reach out via phone when they disagree with initial diagnostic/warranty/changes in estimates. (Once we build guardrails from abuse, will expand to all service locations) In parallel, “no escalation is the best outcome for all”, so working to simplify internal software integrations across systems to get the most accurate results/information for the customer from get go. Incremental Improvements are getting rolled out daily/weekly. "

I got mine replaced today - and I will be going back for round 2. The rails came out like ass, and I don't think they can defend it. Of course, it was the end of the day and the service manager had gone home when I picked it up.

Plus, I had them change my wiper blade and they managed to kink the hose or something, so now it sprays out the bottom of the wiper arm and not the wiper itself. Friggin' wonderful.

I know they'll make it right, but this is some drunk monkey shit.
Just wanted to update this. When I left the service center after the preceding "repair" and my cantrails look like above, I sent some pictures in and they apologized and immediately scheduled me to come in and have them adjusted.

Went in this morning, and they got them back to where they should be. I think they're actually slightly better than they were from the factory. 🎉

So, though they sucked donkey nuts on the first pass, at least the second pass fixed it. Not that we should have to make two visits for this kind of thing.

Just picked mine up from West Covina SC (FS AWD) for cantrail recall, wireless charger upgrade, and tire rotation.

Great service as always. Was given a FS AWD loaner without asking.

They checked tread depth on all tires, and determined no rotation needed. No charge.

They got the cantrails lined up perfectly. I was ready to rush home to install the wrap (got two pieces ready to go from @TWRAPS) But…I’m kinda liking the two-tone look, haha!!

Just dropped my CB off for cant rails. No loaner on the service ticket, I asked for a loaner like, “you know damn well yall won’t finish this today. Every service I’ve had over the last year has taken almost a week.”

…they gave me a loaner. 🤣

Also have the lightbar wiring to complete as they left me with three bare wires a month ago. So hoping both issues are resolved whenever it’s done.

I got mine done today at the San Antonio service center. They did an excellent job - they line up at least as good as, if not better than factory.

Passenger cant rail was atrocious at pickup so they kept it to re-do. Rescheduled for Friday pickup. They also stripped the wires coming out of the light bar and broke the driver seat plastic trim on the bottom. So one step forward, three steps back.

I got my CT back from having the contrails replace under recall warranty and left the next day on a 1000 mile road trip. It was awful. The left side was fine but the right side had a vibration coming like it was loose. It goes in today and they say it isn't covered under warranty/recall. I will hate to have to fight them on this. I have never had an issue with any service performed until now. Any suggestions?

My CANT rails aren't as closely fit as the original ones but the gaps are smaller than normal panel gaps and consistent. I'll try to remember to get some photos after work.
