That’s sort of good for me, since I have a CBFS. I’m talking about depreciation wise. Well, maybe. Let’s see how the market feels and reacts about it. I know this is wishful thinking but I wish Tesla will offer the Luxe package to FS owners this for free. I mean what we don’t have already like free supercharging and Four-Year Premium Service (Wheel and tire protection, windshield protection and recommended maintenance). We are afterwards the ones that took the risk, trust and most of all paid the price.

The option to upgrade would be nice.

So it makes the AWD seem more ā€œaffordableā€? Is that the idea here or is it just sleight of hand distraction from the loss of the tax credit without a corresponding price cut?
Or perhaps they are plannning to make up some of the cost of cutting the AWD price commensurate to some or all of the tax credit by selling the cyberbeast to loyalists and ā€œtop of the lineā€ chasers for more.
Just trying to understand the purpose of the sales maneuver.

Tires are expensive but in 4 years the truck should need 0 maintenance that is not covered under warranty.
FSD $8k
Supercharging $0-$10k in value
Connectivity $100-$500 in value

Some of the people that grabbed the last of the FS with supercharging got a steal.

My take on it is that while the S, X, and Cyberbeast are relatively low volume vehicles, they are also flagship, halo offerings. The Luxe Package accomplishes two important things:

1) Tesla wants every bell and whistle on their halo offerings, which are aspirational products for many people. They don't want their flagship vehicles out in the wild to lack self-driving, as FSD is literally an existential bet for the company. They don't want their high-end buyers extolling the virtues of electric vehicles and then complaining about how the cost of supercharging in many geographic regions isn't cost-competitive with gas prices, negating a major benefit. You buy an S, X, or Cyberbeast, everything is included and you don't have to think about it.

2) These are low volume vehicles, Tesla needs the extra margin to ensure their continued economic viability and factory floor space.
