Keep me posted and let me know how it goes, I'm curious but not expecting much. They might have you remove the safety clip from the USB cable as a solution (one which I would not accept under any circumstance) it prevents the cable from unplugging and as you know, the screen is pretty much your whole truck.
To me it appears that you need washers or a spacer on top of the arm assembly.. has anyone successfully installed this 2nd version?
If you go the washer route, you can just trim the plastic part for more clearance, that's easy enough and its not going to be visible, but if you plan on returning it like you mentioned then I wouldn't do that.So ive thought about doing that. But if I do that, the new plastic trim doesn’t fit on the screen side. I will need more than the current existing gap to fit the display connector without straining the connection.
Yeah your situation is exactly the same as mine, I had about 1/4 in too, which is why I couldn't go strictly the washer route and had to remove metal to make it work. If you put that many washers then the bolts don't engage the mount properly. You could get longer bolts I suppose. It's a lot of leg work for a new product that should fit out of the box. It shouldn't require what I had to do.
