Is anyone aware of any kind of device that can just pull 10kW from the CT and dump it to the grid?

Wow, there is actually a device, how about that. Yes, if I were to make use of a device like this, I'd set it up on a bed of sand under a foam fire suppression system, lol, but I clearly am NOT the first person to wonder about this opportunity.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a direct link to a potentially viable product!
That device is not for a grid tied system.

Once you have PowerShare which should be any day now…ahem…ahem (can you hear me Tesla?, no? didn’t think so) , you can just run your house on the truck on the power you import and use less form the powerwall and export that. But yes, I’m with @mongo (pretty much always šŸ˜‰). That’s not what that device is for.
I think it’s intended to use a non-Cybertruck the way our vault outlets are meant to function.
I probably wouldn’t feel great about doing even that knowing full well who designs and sells it.

Yes, but I already cover my peak usage entirely with solar and PW. The point isn't to reduce further my peak draw from the grid, the point is to sell as much power back to the grid as it's possible to (safely) pull from my battery storage.

I have 2 PW3's on my wall, and another 9 on wheels. The PW's are capable of feeding power to the grid, so long as they themselves are getting fed. They wouldn't care if the 14A @350Vdc is being fed to them from a string of solar panels or from a power supply. As long as the power supply would shut off under the same conditions that a string of panels would (open MPPT circuit?), then the PW would be able to handle the "grid tie" side of things.

If the PW shuts down the panel strings via some communication instead of just opening the circuit, then the power supply would have to respect that shut down command somehow, which I doubt I could make happen.

The PW has no obligation to turn the HVDC into AC. Since the PW isn't going to tell Cybertruck to turn off outlets and go to sleep, the power supply being on is a moot point.

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out a way to force the CT to pour it's power back to the grid. I have solar with PW3's, so PS isn't an option right now, and it might not actually serve this purpose when they do finally turn it on.

I know I can hook up a 10kW welder to the 240v plug in the bed and pull 10kW continuous from that outlet. Is there any kind of device that can be set to pull a specific amount of power and just pass it along with minimal losses? Something that would act like a 10kw load to the CT, but act as a 10kw generator back feeding into the panel.

Does anyone have any idea how I can do this?

Thank you.

If you have solar power at your home where you push your excess power back to the grid, then you should be able to do it. It would probably require a separate 3-way connection that disconnects your solar and connects your CT to replace your solar (say at night) then your home would be powered by the CT and excess would go back to the grid (as if the solar was producing power).
Not sure how you would limit the CT from trying to push more than its limit
