Hey Grok, take me to your place.
You think they all hang out at night and do light shows together when nobody's looking? Or trade gossip about the day, maybe. Compare looks? "Do these wheel covers make me look fat?"

While there's going to be a bunch of negative "ha ha Elon can't sell the cybertruck so he's selling it to himself" jokes, I think it's great that they will become more commonplace on the roads in Palo Alto / the Bay Area with them in service, and save xAI some money on maintenance and fuel.

Why does such a company need a fleet of Trucks…?

as opposed to the 3 or Y… or…
Maintenance people still gotta haul stuff.

But, seriously, I think this is a brilliant move to make the CTs more common in people's perception. It's so visually polarizing that normalizing it being seen around town is a great move.

Looks like Cybertrucks will also now be the official vehicle of xAI. Here's a fleet delivered already to the xAI Palo Alto office.

No wheel covers? Are they no longer standard?

People who make fleet purchasing decisions probably also want to see actual cost data from actual fleets so I think in the medium to long term this will help sales by providing said data.

I think they will be using them as heavy duty work trucks to haul things during business days, constructions, renovations, maintenance, etc. Similar to the 300 or so Ford F150s currently being utilized at various King Ranch's properties in Texas, Florida, New Mexico, and South Carolina.
Elon's companies are using many Model 3s and Model Ys as company vehicles and some are pulling security details. Don't forget the dozens of loaner Tesla Evs (Cybertruck, Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y) used at every service centers around the globe. Here are just a few that I had encountered at SpaceX and GigaTexas.

Very common practices.
NVIDIA just offered OpenAI up to 100 billions to buy their AIchips 😂

This is brilliant, I think the network effect of seeing tons of cybertrucks on the road will help boost sales, so many people still think it's some small-batch truck just made to look cool and flex. Sure, it looks cool but it's an amazing machine. Once people see as many CTs as Tacomas they'll get used to them and be more willing to listen to the other stuff.

Honestly it blows my mind how many people buy vehicles just for looks.

I think that everybody who can afford a car for more than just basic transportation buys it for looks … what are you talking about?

What planet are you from that you don’t understand the concept that fuels every little boy’s lust for their dream car?

This is like the idea that people are buying Playboy for the journalism. Huh?!

Lol so you really just bought a CT because it's shiny? My favorite car growing up was a hummer, looks only ever followed function.

I'm curious how many people here are like you and would buy the CT even if it didn't have durable stainless steel body panels, steer by wire, 4wheel steering, FSD, 48V architecture, the locking Tonneau that can hold 300lbs, 90 degree rear door openings etc.
