Lock Confirmation Sound

Hey all… I’ve noticed that my Cybertruck does not make a sound when walk away lock activates. My 3 and Y both did this. I went into Controls > Locks to look for “Lock Confirmation Sound” and don’t see it. Even Tesla’s site says the option should be there (https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/...nd a confirmation,you have designated as Home.)

We are on version 2024.8.100

Do any of you have this option when looking at Controls > Locks

Software 2024.8.12 is the current version and yes you can change lock sounds

I saw the boombox option, but that’s just to get “special” sounds. Just like with all the other Tesla’s there should be an option under Control > Locks to indicate you want the sound when the truck auto locks.

Pick a sound under boombox option or put a lockchime.wav on the USB in the glovebox

Note - at least for now - the volume of the speaker is way lower than 3/Y. At least for me and few others that have noted it on this forum.

exactly, I hope they fix it soon because depending on the noise of the garage I'm parking in I can barely hear it

I'm split on missing this feature from my model Y. What I want, if anything, is the usual horn beep. Not a quiet custom sound that you can't hear as you're walking away. But, I'm really enjoying not having the car beep as I'm on my way into my house after parking in my garage.

Would be super nice if they could implement something where it only beeps on walk away lock in places where sentry mode is active (toggleable option, people who want it to always beep could still have that).

That's an odd firmware number - are you sure? I dont think that version number was ever released to the public

That's the firmware that most trucks have been delivered with.

Thanks for the screenshot. I definitely don’t have the “Lock Confirmation Sound” option but I do have the “Close Windows on Lock” option. To your other post, our version is 12 but the build is 2024.8.100.

I contacted service and they said I have the factory build. So that may be why I don’t see this option. Hopefully I get pushed the regular person build soon.

If you use a wav file you can edit the volume with a program like Audacity. I use the wav: "automatic defense procedures initiated" on my Model Y. It was actually too loud so edited the volume lower.

Thanks for the response, but this is not what I am looking for. I’m familiar with ”Lock Sound” feature under Boombox as I’ve had two Tesla’s before the Cybertruck. However, my current software build (v12.0 2024.8.100) on the Cybertruck does not have the regular lock sounds which should be found under Controls > Locks. I’m assuming this will show up when I get the next software update.
