The CT isn't selling super well, but I don't think this is because other vehicles are "cutting into" CT sales. I think there just aren't enough people who (1) are in the "love it" category, and (2) can afford an $80,000 pickup.
True, the $69k Tri motor was the ____so many were expecting.

Mostly just looking for a reason to hear opinions about this thing.
I think it kind of looks like a rehashed Honda Element.
it’s obviously not a direct competitor by any means but there are people who buy cybertrucks who I think might be interested in these.
I agree with you on the aesthetics, but I think it's fake.

Because the opening scene showed a snowy landscape with 25 kt. winds and a flock of black vultures flying downwind at only 20 kts. Impossible.

Please don't talk about the Cybertruck that way. You know it struggles with self-esteem.
The Cybertruck?? You know, that's the last vehicle that would have a self-esteem problem!

It exudes confidence the way it gives the middle finger to traditional car design.

Reminds me more of the Jeep Renegade design.

I think the only thing that would cut into Cybertruck sales is a Cybertruck looking vehicle (angular, stainless steel).

I was always amused by the triple windshield wiper system on the previous FJ Cruiser. I'd much prefer the singular giga wiper that we have.

Toyota stated the FJ will NOT be imported to the US.

Why? It was not designed for the US market and rides on a totally different platform than the Tundra/Tacoma/Land Cruiser.
I think Toyota made it ugly on purpose, much like GM did with the Bolt. So they could tell the regulators in Europe, "See, car buyers don't want electric vehicles, we brought it to market, were ready to make millions of them but only sold 5,000." You have to let us make what the market wants!

You could be right. But as far as I know, nobody -- not even Tesla -- has anything remotely like that on offer, either now or in the foreseeable future. So if you're right, then nothing else is going to cut into CT sales.

If you want it, you want it and there is no substitute. It just seems that there are fewer of us out there who really want it!

I guess the GAC Pickup 01, which is supposed to go on sale in 2027, is remotely similar. But like other Chinese vehicles, it won't be sold in the US. Apparently they are targeting Mexico and Saudi Arabia, so it could potentially compete with the CT in those markets.

Definitely love at first sight with that thing. Toyota could’ve aped that for the new FJ!
