I have never had this happen until today but i was driving on FSD and i noticed the tonneau auto opened. I tried closing it but it wouldnt so i had to pull over to manually close it with the vault buttons near the tailgate. I hope it doesnt continue to do this like my windshield wipers that have started dry wiping again on FSD after this last update. Anyone noticed a phantom open tonneau?

Not the tonneau. But a couple of weeks ago, the app suddenly popped telling me my frunk was open… while I was home. The truck is in the garage. It just opened up for no reason, and I park close to the wall, front first, so the frunk hit the wall.. not that it scratched anything. I had to back out first to close it.

Such a weird random bug. No biggie since it happened at home, but not a great feel to think this could happen again out in the wild when I’m not paying attention. I may report it next time I have to go for service.

I would check the vault buttons outside. Early on people reported issues with water getting in the button assembly and causing issues.

I haven't had any phantom button presses. Hit the down window buttons too many times myself climbing in though. :D

do you have the “open frunk when im standing in front of my car with my phone” setting enabled? whats on the other side of that wall? could you have been close enough to trigger that?

(you can exclude locations from that behavior if you do have it on)

I have an early truck and have the occasional button issue. For me at least, when it is too wet or snowy, the buttons don't always register a press. When it happens, which thankfully has only been a few times, I need to use the app. Unless other people have another issue with phantom presses, this potential behavior is the opposite of what happens on my early truck.

Does anyone else in your family have your CT on their Tesla app? Maybe, it was an accidental butt dial tonneau opening.

I had two phantom frunk openings when I first got the truck a year ago, but not since.

I bet your frunk switch is faulty. Happened to me a year ago (ironically within a day or two after a software update). They replaced the switch and it’s been perfect since then.

What I noticed was: if I lock the truck, it wouldn’t randomly open (I don’t lock it when in my garage).

I have it on but excluding home. Good guess though. Dining room is right behind that wall… can’t remember where I was when it triggered. Likely not in the dining room. I may do an experiment though.

Which switch? The one above the front camera on the bumper?
