To me this seems like the mass market price they need to hit. The features they are removing from the AWD premium won't be missed, especially air suspension. Most people buying $60k vehicles don't have air suspension experience, so it will be like everything they every drove before.

Also, the air suspension on the CT is pretty lackluster. If I could get a Beast without air suspension and it was $20k cheaper, sign me up. CT is not the most comfortable ride today, my Lightning was worlds better, I genuinely think the coils may end up the better feeling option.

I wonder if a 5th wheel hitch can be installed in the place of the missing air suspension compressor…hmmmm. 🧐
The compressor wouldn't really complicate adding a fifth wheel plate, but the reduced capacity specs might.

This is a pretty compelling deal. The 8 year / 150,000 mile powertrain warranty is very under rated at 60k. You get a nice comfortable truck that can do work and drive itself for 150,000 worry free miles. Ford does 60,000 miles.

Elon tweeted that the price is going up in 10 days.
I wish Tesla would cut out the FOMO bullsh!t. In that way they are no different than a plain stealership. I'm thinking seriously about trading my 2018 FSD Model 3 on this though.

Real question. Who would buy the higher trim AWD now? Awfully big jump in price for those options.

What would you do in this situation?
Only you can properly value what's important to you and worth spending money on. I love air suspension and value good sound, these alone would not only make me keep it, but in the reverse scenario - if I had lower trim on order and new came out with air suspension and better sound - I'd forgo the order and go for the premium.

I originally ordered an AWD model during the last series of lease incentives. Due to no inventory being available locally, I was required to place a factory order. The CT arrived after the new year and Tesla was unable to honor the $729 lease inventive since I would have had to taken delivery before 12/31. I ended up cancelling that order and figured I would wait towards the end of Q1 to see if another deal would pop up. This time around, I think it's the ideal timing. At least for me. While I understand that certain features are missing in comparison to the AWD, they aren't a big deal for me. Again, I understand that this specific new trim isn't for everyone and I can respect that. With that being said, I'm going to purchase this one outright opposed to leasing. I placed my order last night 02/20/26 @ 9:15 PM EST.

So I don't regret buying my CT earlier as I thought this price drop would take longer or never come, but yea at this pricepoint be crazy to wait, especially with the mystery "For the next 10 days" thing floating around. Hopefully price doesn't DROP after10 days :)

Honestly, do not not know why anybody would want a small truck, just buy a MY.

The MY doesn't have the tow ability, the ground clearance or the bashability of the CT. It would still be immensely functional at a slightly smaller size, and much easier to manage and park (at least in Europe). 10cm in width and 50cm in length would make a world of difference.

I would think quite the opposite. air suspensions are generally a gimmick that Land Rovers and the like run. Absolutely no serious off-road vehicle would ever run an air suspension. Jeep , raptor , any TRD off road Toyota , no air suspension. Almost every single aftermarket long travel suspension kit has traditional coil overs with a spring. In fact, I have to now worry about getting a fault message when I toss out those stupid airbags on my current CT in favor of a proper off-road coil over setup.
This trim cyber truck is perfect for anybody who wants to push it off-road or potentially modify it to actually off-road.
I agree, after all the lost air over the years from my P85D, I prefer coil springs over the air suspension too.

70k/80k/100k seem like more logical price points given the feature set.

They might want to bring back RWD basic for 50k or 60k.
I think this is the most likely scenario
