I’ve seen a lot of news on X recently that the dual motor AWD cybertruck delivery dates got pushed back to Q1 2027, but no one has provided proof rather than just the AI chat bot.

Has anyone in here been told Q1 2027, or are we still on track for June? My agent told me there have been no changes, but I’ve also seen people say their agents said 2027.

Thanks y’all.

I'm confused when people say agent. Did you place the order and then instantly get a message from Tesla? I have the order placed but haven't heard anything from them at all. This is the first Tesla I have ordered. the other two i bought ones that were in stock at local Tesla Stores.

The agent I reached out to was my previous agent when I bought my foundation series.

I stopped into the Grand Rapids, MI store where i test drove a Cybertruck. I see in the app AI-Assist says 1Q2027 delivery. I asked the sales guy if I should expect June 2026 (situation when I placed order) or AI-Assist. He told me Grand Rapids sales hadn't been told anything different so continue to expect June 2026. He did not sound overly confident though...

This was the same situation for me. I do wish we could get an official, human answer, but I think we’ll find out more around May.

Model Y owner for 5-years. Fully agree with the above statement.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they push all $59,900 orders to the start of 2027 production later in the year.

I think the estimated delivery dates were estimates from an automated machine. It could be sooner, could be later.

But, I don't think they'll dribble them out. Once they get the unique parts, they'll crank 'em out fast.

CyberGus,

I think (and hope) you are right. Earlier this afternoon when I received an e-mail from Tesla with the subject line, "Your New Tesla is Waiting," I thought it had already happened and Tesla was contacting me about my order. But then I found that the e-mail was just a promo for all models and all trim. At the same time, the e-mail did mention that during the promotion, which ran from March 20 to March 22, "Our team of Tesla Advisors will be available to answer any questions about Tesla ownership." I suspect this is one of those questions that will get asked a lot. Maybe we will get an answer.

Should be quick to get the parts unique to the base model, because aren't they the same parts they used on the now defunct rear wheel drive CT?

Apparently the Basic AWD (BAWD) shares common parts with the RWD, but that's doesn't mean they have all the necessary parts on tap. Still, I don't expect the lead time for such parts to be long (unless they're shipped through the Strait of Hormuz lol)

My suspicion/guess the delivery dates have to do with the ramp-up of the new “dry cell” 4680 batteries. Interesting tech and should significantly help with CT margins.

My understanding is that Tesla has gone to great lengths over the last year to stop getting parts from China, and as such, the Cybertruck is one of the most North American-sourced pickup trucks, with Mexico as the clear dominant non-US contributor for actual manufactured components, with Canada second. So the shipping issues with the Strait of Hormuz shouldn't affect delivery dates for the base model CT.

Something that I"ve not heard anyone talk about, but this video the guy compares the RWD version vs Premium. He mentions there are no roof mount points on the RWD version like they are on the premium, which would make it hard to mount a light bar, etc.

Edit: I did see later in the video he does see a roof power feed in the software.

I saved the clip at his comment.

Unless it has changed the roof applique just needs to be changed as the mounting points are below.
