Tesla pushing update failed PCS to enable supercharging while awaiting PCS repair part

Early foundataion owner here. I wonder if we can proactively request the PCS replacement so we can get into the queue. (It starting to sounds like the issue is inevitable.) As a consolation, perhaps one can enjoy the free supercharging access in the mean time. I wonder if the SC rep will do their due diligence an actually look at the vehicle log?

Well i finally got my truck back from the SC. No issues so far everything is working as intended. hopefully i don't need to go back for this ever.

Issue appeared on the 10th; dropped truck off
Issue resolved on 28th; picked truck up

As long as supercharging is working I'm not too worried about it. If no supercharging then I'm worried. As long as I don't get stuck somewhere on a road trip.

Which SC in Virginia did you have the work done and did they give you a loaner for the 18 days it was in the shop being repaired?

I’m in the Hampton roads area. So my service center is Norfolk Va.

They did give me a loaner, a CyberBeast at that. And no it was maybe a day to day and a half to fix. The rest of time was waiting on parts. But at time there wasn’t the option to enable supercharging so I litterally had a dying truck.

I didn't think this is new, I've had free supercharging for a while now. This whole situation is a nightmare, it's really the least they could do.

What a hot mess. Recall all PCS, and affected components up to rev G! This is the right thing to do and adequately protects ALL early CT owners!

I posted before on this when I went in for a tire rotation. They put a new one in my truck and gave me a loaner and did it the same day because there was a message on the screen about charging not sure what it was but I charge mostly at home, but it could still charge at 28 A I think

Dank Farrik. Where's my badge of honor as I unwillingly join this very large club? My PCS just went out. Well, halfway. I can currently still charge at 24 amps. I've already submitted a ticket and got a response that the parts aren't available (no ETA given) but I have free supercharging in the mean time. I had several camping trips planned this summer and this issue might cancel them depending on when I get my service scheduled. And I did go submit a response on all three PCS polls by dalton108. Mid 2024 AWD VIN 15k and 20,327 miles.

Mine was like this for about a month but I can no longer charge at 24 A and have to go to a supercharger now.

I wonder if the fact these parts are so scarce is what's keeping them from recalling?

That’s probably part of it, but since there was a part failure in many vehicles, they probably have redesigned it and redesigned it and they probably do not have enough in production to replace them all yet so they’re replacing those that have the issues first. I guess I was just lucky that they had one in stock immediately when my part failed and I did not know the part had failed because at home I only charge it 28 A even though it’s on a 48 amp service.

the update enabling supercharging was 2026.2.9.7. Them their screenshots in the article, look familiar like they was posted on CTOB before. Maybe media pressure will entice a factory recall, I just paid 7k to get mine fixed out of warranty, 21 hours labor. When the PCS, it takes out other components with it.

Your cost of 7k seems unfair even with expired warranty. Was it reported on a forum that out of warranty repair for this issue was going to be capped at a 1000?
