I ordered 3 Cybertrucks for my business and after nearly five years of waiting, I had no choice but to cancel the first delivery today. The truck simply failed to meet the requirements to be part of our fleet. Example; Even with the Superior Tesla charging network the Cyber was beat in the cross country race from Florida to California by both Rivian and Chevy... What a pathetic showing by cyber. The reason Tesla got beat so bad comes down to a lack of battery real world range, the originally stated 500+ miles advertised was reduced to a dismal 300, more like 80 while towing, which makes this vehicle little more than a toy... that simply cannot replace a real work truck.
I still have two more orders, and I challenge Tesla to step up to the plate and hit a home run before my next two orders come up. Tesla must match, or exceed the Chevy EV's mileage... or I'll never be able to justify placing this vehicle on the road with my team behind the wheel. My heart sank when I first viewed the specs of the Cyber and today, I'm saddened deeply to have no choice but to cancel my order. I would post list of the Cybers short comings, but don't wish to bash on the company I love so much. I wish Tesla continued success and I'm hopeful that someday they will build a truly competitive EV truck.

So you went all of the way through the process of ordering, after the specs were known. They didn't change after you placed the real order (you said you canceled a delivery today, meaning you had a real order and not a reservation). So you wasted your own and everyone at tesla's time by placing an order that you knew you would never take delivery of?

I don't understand the point of your post, or your actions.

I could understand back in november if you thought that 500 miles was a dealbreaker. The towing was never a mystery, it was always going to be bad if you tow an enormous load so you would have known from 2019 that it was terrible real range vs epa when towing... But I cannot fathom seeing the specs in november, knowing they cannot meet your apparent needs, following through with the order when you were invited for foundation series, and then canceling on delivery day.

I really hope you have delegated all important decisions in your business to someone else, because you don't seem to make good decisions at all.

I was wondering the same… What kind of business needs a truck to race from Florida to California…

Are you running a used boat and rv towing service company transporting 3rd party toys across the country as fast as possible for the customer’s satisfaction? (I’ve bought a boat from
The east coast and had it towed 3rd party across the country so I know these businesses exist)… otherwise I am struggling to think of a business that needs to race across country and could benefit from an electric tow vehicle ?… You’ve also clearly NOT driven this truck or towed with it. It’s like getting an iPhone when you had a blackberry as compared to the Chevy and even the rivian… Your tow stats are also very off. I’ve towed my 6000lb boat and a 2500lb pop-up trailer. 200 miles on full charge with the boat and 240-250 with the pop-up.

If this is a serious post, which I doubt it is, I’d be shocked if you truly felt this way after owning and driving a Cybertruck…

I call bullshit on this post. This smells like a plant so some “journalist” can write an article stating how someone cancelled their delivery last minute because the Cybertruck doesn’t live up to expectations. I’ve seen other posts in this forum taken out of context and used to bash Tesla. Nice try.

did you see the article today where the guy actually took delivery and discovered it really didn't fit into his now-divorced life, as in it couldn't fit in his new apartment parking area, so he wanted tesla to take it back? can't remember who wrote it but it was just that, a really, really pathetic attempt at a hit piece, quite comical, in fact.

Yup - saw that. It’s obviously made up and ridiculous, but it gets “published” as if it’s fact. So silly.

I challenge you to cancel the other two orders now and purchase a Chevy and Rivian, now! Best of luck.
