I've impressed many with the AWD acceleration. I believe the 4.5s number but it oddly feels faster.
I think AWD is 4.1 sec which is too fast for a truck. There is no reason on earth to be faster other than bragging rights and overcompensating :>)

Have you drove a gas vehicle since getting your cybertruck? They seem like clown cars after getting use to a CT.
A friend of mine who I gave short privilege to drive the CT immediately called me back as soon as I dropped him off:

Friend: Dude, I can't...I just can't.
Me: can't what?
Friend: drive my car (ICE)!
Me: why?
Friend: your truck...it just spoiled me!

Had to stop at the curb to laugh hysterically. ??

I drove a rental Chevy Something after a few years of driving my Tesla.....it was SO BAD that I literally thought the transmission was about to go. Nope.....just that bad.

Non-EV drivers have no idea how terrible their cars are.

I've actually seen a couple of media outlets get a "tested" 0-60 time of 3.8-3.9s for an FSAWD. In fact, Tesla's site originally showed 3.9s before it was updated to 4.1s (likely because 3.9s is with the A/S and 4.1s is with the A/T). I'd venture to guess that it's mildly underreported to avoid cannibalizing sales of the Beast (2.Xs vs 3.Xs is a lot less convincing than 2.Xs vs 4.Xs). I'd also speculate we may get an "Acceleration Boost" option for the AWD once the fanfare around the launch has slowed a bit but that is purely a hunch.

https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2024-tesla-cybertruck-dual-motor-0-60-mph-tested/

For reference, a Ferrari F430 Berlinetta from the mid-2000s (less than 20 years ago) did 0-60 in 4.1s and the 1/4-Mile in 12.4s, essentially identical to the (likely underreported) specs for the CT FSAWD (0-60 in 4.1s and the 1/4 Mile in 12.4s). When compared to a more modern exotic, the brand new Lotus Emira (roughly the same price as an FSAWD) does 0-60 in 4.3s and the 1/4-Mile in 12.7s. So yeah, for a 7000lb truck on all-terrain tires, it's insanely fast!

I doubt it.

Tesla hasn't done Acceleration Boost in their top tiers S/X and no longer has it for the M3.

This was my experience after test driving a Model S back in 2014. I went back to my manual transmission Chevy Cruze 1 minute after driving the S and instantly couldn't understand how I'd been putting up with it.

That's fair. I do think with optimization we may see at least a tenth or two shaved off over time. If anything, future iterations chipping away at it in the next couple years though minor improvements.

So I received my truck about a week ago and have been driving it in "chill" mode this entire time. Tonight a passenger wanted to see how fast it was so I decided to put it in sport to test. I didn't expect much because I know mine was the slower truck, but this thing was brutal, it literally threw us back in our seats and my passenger lost grip of her phone and it landed on the back seat.

I've driven 4 second 0-60 cars before and this felt way faster than any of them. Is Tesla under reporting the dual motor 0-60 to sell more beasts? It feels so unsafe to have that much speed on public roads, I can't imagine the beast being much faster than that. As it is I'm probably never putting my truck in sport mode again.
In the Beast, without even using "Launch Mode" just Beast mode, passengers get very big eyes and before they can say HOLY SHIT the truck is over 60 MPH. Its probably not like any sports car available for under $250,000. My passengers were screaming with delight and still giggling after getting out. And they were all over 50 years old so not youngsters and loved the intense acceleration. Very few people get to experience this level of acceleration.

Maybe CyberTruck isn't the right car for you....

Because I’m a safe driver? The speed limit on public roads is 25mph and the highway is 50 mph.

why does anyone need a truck as fast as the awd cybertruck? Much more for the cyberbeast.

I don't disagree with you. I'm also a very conservative driver. You can drive it like a grandpa if you want to.

What @wtibbit on another thread feels accurate to describe the AWD Cybertruck

“Relatively Thrifty Yet Quick Enough” ?

IMG_6556.webp
Yes!

Quick.... 4.1 secs 0-60 (or 3.9 secs, depending...) beats my much-loved C6 Corvette coupe by about .5 seconds.

Quick enough for ME!

Thrifty.... Not opting for the Beast's 1.5 second quicker acceleration leaves $20K in your pocket - enough to buy a really nice late model Accord for that special person in your life. That would probably get you a hug or two, well worth spending an extra second or two, every now and then, getting up to 60!

Relatively thrifty for ANYONE (who could use a hug!)

Unfortunately, tire wear will be an issue with my Beast. Everyone that wants a ride, also wants to feel the launch.

The 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds is faster than my Model 3 Performance! I don't regret the purchase.

If you can afford it, buy it. "Coffins don't have pockets."

PS..The Model 3 was passed on, and yes, the hugs are well worth it.
