Once you order, is it possible to get delivery faster than estimated date?

I’m currently waiting for the VIN and I’m getting the estimate for August/September but I’m hearing mixed things about how it’s possible that it might come earlier. Is this true? I just want to make sure I have the funds ready if it actually comes early as I’d have to move money around to pay in cash.

I got the email stating I could order. So, I ordered a CT around May 27th. Got an email stating July - Sept is when I could expect it. Then, I got a message wanting to schedule delivery for June 4th

So, yes, it _can_ come earlier, but not sure if anything specific triggers it.

I paid cash for one of my beasts. Just a simple wire transfer via SAY. funds transfer was instantaneous

It is possible to get it earlier for a number of reasons. As previously mentioned someone did not pay after getting a VIN.
or in my case I got my VIN on May 30th with an expected delivery date sometime in June. However I ordered my CT with the tactical gray yet my VIN was for the white interior.
I changed the color. i may have screwed myself with a delayed delivery but I did no want the white. I’ve waited since 2019……

Sure, it may come early, it may have happened a few times already.

But probabilities are that it will be late.
Once you get the VIN, you'll have a week or so to get things figured out.

If you ordered the spec Tesla has been building - AWD white interior with all terrain wheels/tires - then yes, it can be available earlier, much earlier. I had a July-Sept est after placing my order on 5/31. Picked up my truck on 6/10. Had my VIN a few days earlier, thinking it was 6/4.

However...

...if you want a Beast and/or have chosen tactical grey and/or all-seasons then be prepared to wait. My understanding is the line has not started production of tactical grey and all-seasons and, as we've seen, Beast deliveries take quite a while.

Yesterday I stopped by my delivery location to see if they could give me an approximate delivery date and they told me my Cybertruck was in Atlanta, so it was getting closer and to expect it sometime in July, then last night I received a text telling me to schedule appointment and at that time I realized they had given me a new VIN and an appointment to pick it up tomorrow (Sunday),
I am thinking maybe someone else either wasn't able to get financing or didn't want to accept it, I am very excited about the delivery but also wondering what the reason was for the change?

You can overthink it and wonder exactly what you got.

Or just put it behind you and enjoy it.

Does it really matter? If it was made in March, are you going to reject it? It's very possible that the info that they had wasn't up to date or someone else cancelled their delivery.

Most important thing is that tomorrow it will be yours!!!!

Don't go in expecting a detailed clean spic and span vehicle. Most delivery centers do clean the vehicles, but mostly to just get some of the dust off of them. You may still want to clean it.

When you get there, you'll probably check in at the Delivery Center desk (Not the service or sales desks) and a delivery advisor will them make sure that everything is complete.

They will probably be excessively busy and have a lot of vehicles to deliver, so they may not have a lot of time to spend with you.
They will then take you to the vehicle to let you do a walk around. If there are any issues, take a picture and inform the Delivery Advisor, they will probably then tell you to create a Service Request and include the information with it (Service not open on Sunday).
The only thing that you really need to worry about is if you are going to reject the vehicle.

They will help you setup your phone and the cardkey after you do your walk-around.

After paperwork is finalized, it's yours. You can often stay around for as long as you want, but they are still delivering vehicles, so be a little considerate.

Set up the infotainment center to your liking, find out where the volume is and then don't touch it until you get home. Learn and enjoy the Cybertruck, don't futz around and have a wreck.
Learn the turn signals and how to put it in gear.
All of this is available in the videos in your app, they are well worth watching.
If it may possibly rain, figure out how to control the wipers.

And the most important thing is to have a photographer with you to take a picture of the Cybertruck and your big grin!

For me yes, Reservation May 2021, Invite to order on June 13 with delivery estimate Aug-Sept. That was with tactical gray trim. Friday I switched to white and I had a vin in under two hours. I'm taking delivery on Sunday. The color was not a big deal but having it for summer was so here we go.

It's amazing how many things that are so important completely get forgotten with the promise of getting behind the Cybertruck quickly!

I had this exact scenario happen to me. They had to put me on a hold until grays were being delivered. Once I saw a post of the 1st gray delivery here I switched off the hold in the app and called CS to make sure everything was corrected. What steps did you take to stop getting auto switched to white?
