Hello gang, I have a favor to ask everyone who already took delivery.

We had a problem with the tonneau cover and Tesla serviced it but I noticed a gap at the top of the cover which I was not aware. That it had! Because the current state doesn’t look right to me. As the water, debris and snow can clearly be a problem

I counted the and it’s only 28 slats where it should be 29 according to Munro Live’s Cybertruck Tonneau cover video. Did Tesla just remove the broken one and call it fixed?

How many slats does yours have? Thanks!

Got out to the parking lot again: I don’t think so.

Here’s the picture:

Thank you so much! It appears like they didn’t install or missed the brush on the top cover cap! I took it apart once and it slides. Seems like they missed that ?!

Actually, the brush is there installed correctly but still has a 1/4 inch gap with exposed assembly.

I’m curious about this too. Mine has the smaller slat at the top one fully closed and you can see all of the little holes. Initially mine leaked a lot of water but the service center did something to fix it and it was pretty water tight after that. I still need to check it again since they have done some more work recently. They said whatever they did they weren’t supposed to do, but they did it as a favor whatever that means.

I’m thinking one adjusted properly those holes at the top in the shorter panel are made to collect the water and drain it to the sides.

In any case, does anyone know how to adjust the tunnel to close further if you don’t have the calibrate option and manually holding the button does not do anything? Is there a service mode option to manually calibrate it?

To calibrate:

  • Controls (Truck Icon) -> "Software" menu
  • Touch and hold "Cybertruck" logo for ~5 seconds (it will flash), then release
  • Enter the password "service" and accept the prompt to enter Service Mode
  • Touch "closures" then "tonneau"
  • Touch "calibrate" and follow the prompts

To finish, return to the main Service Menu and hold "Exit Service Mode".

thank you. I tried this and the calibration it ran the cycle was unsuccessful several try’s and created an error for the left and right motors. Now the cover has functionally disabled and only operates when holding the button down manually. Wonder what the issue may be, has anybody heard about this issue?

Mine has 27 full size slats and the 1 short one at the top. I see 3/4 of the holes above the short slat. I think we are definitely missing a full size slat.
