Tesla recommends Removal of the Wheel Fairings Before Off-Road Driving

Remove wheel fairings: Cybertruck has pieces of plastic trim that descend in front of the wheels from the rocker panels on either side of the vehicle. These are the wheel fairings. The wheel fairings increase aerodynamic performance and range, but may be damaged while driving off-road over rough, uneven surfaces, rocks, or obstacles. To prevent damage, remove the front wheel fairings before off-road driving. For more information and instructions for removing the wheel fairings, refer to the Do It Yourself Guide (see Do It Yourself Maintenance).

The Cybertruck Do It Yourself manual provides step-by-step instructions for Removing and Installing the Front Wheel Fairings

See https://service.tesla.com/docs/Publ...UID-A645795C-7278-4C66-88BA-B3BB5483B3FB.html

Below is a photo of a Wheel Fairing.

This happened to me when my front scraped bottom on an unpaved farm road and I didn't notice that the ride height had returned to low after stopping for a while. Fortunately this time, it could be popped back into place.

I didn't RTFM until AFTER taking the CT on an unpaved road! :-(

Any idea where to purchase these - I damaged mine before I read this thread on a speed bump.

Did you ever figure this out? I’ve scheduled service for end of July to replace mine but would do it myself if I can get the parts.

Yes - You have to order them from the parts dept at a Tesla Service Center - No way to order online directly. Took about 5-6 weeks to get them. I would order 2 sets - not terribly expensive - but not cheap - but likely to be damaged again. I had the truck in low height setting and hit a speed bump and ripped them right off.

I always order parts through the app.

I open a service ticket and ask for the parts I need. I get a message a few days later with the estimated cost. I pay through the app, and get a notification when the parts come in.

IIRC, those front wheel fairings are ~$15 each??

ETA: Fronts $40, Rears $15, Push Pins $0.50 per @mongo

I purchased all 4 front fairings - my recollection is that it ran about $118

the weird thing is the link to remove the rear wheel fairing is down. But yes needs to be removed !
I found out they are self-removing! :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, I've been beating it up pretty good on some pretty rugged terrain, driving over fallen trees, and worse.

Thanks much! Good to know info! And am glad they’re inexpensive.

Thanks for the info! And great idea with regard to ordering more than one at a time.

You mentioned sets: Do they come in pairs, or do you mean you just ordered both at the same time and are calling it a set?
