Short of reminding every single front seat passenger how to properly open the door, so they don't use the emergency door handle that is in the most CONVENIENT PLACE EVER to use. Has anyone found a solution or sticker or something to place on this?

It's honestly in the best place for an actual door handle, which is the worst place to put an emergency door handle xD
My dad is the worst about it because that's how his Cali T door handle is .-.
The first, most important and only way to do it is really simple.

Inform them of where the door release actually is.

Have fun and give your passengers the Cybertruck Safety Briefing as you get on airplanes.

What's wrong with using this emergency latch to open the door? Will using it repeatedly damage the door?
When a door is opened normally its window is lowered slightly before the door latch is released electronically by the truck's control system.

If the door is opened with the emergency release the window isn't lowered before the latch is released mechanically by the release lever. Also, the emergency door release event is recognized by the system and a warning of the unusual action is recorded and displayed.

I'm not sure whether or not the window seal or some other component would be damaged over time by using the emergency release, but the warnings are annoying enough for me to try to avoid it.

This is NOT a Tesla thing, many cars do it.

It's the trim piece on the door that's sometimes in the way. The trim piece covers the gaskets and makes it look a little better.
I know on my Tesla cars, if I use the manual open, the window rubs against the trim piece really hard. There have been examples of the windows breaking.

True, Woodrick!

My C6 Corvette has the same situation, and weather seal at the top of the window is deep and strongly holds the window again the door opening. The window could certainly be broken, especially in the winter when the seals harden. Fortunately that car's emergency door release can hardly be found, much less mistakenly used (much like the rear door emergency release on the Cybertruck ).

Model X has the same handle. It took me 6 months to actually find that it was a door handle. I wasn't aware that it was not supposed to be used. Not sure what the big deal is for using it.

Not sure what the big deal is for using it.

You could damage the window if it does not lower before opening the door, and will almost certainly shatter if you close the door with the window fully UP.

Fortunately, it will detect the emergency lever usage and lower the window anyway, but it may not be fast enough if you fling the door open with reckless abandon.

Depending on the vehicle, it can range from scratching the trim to breaking the glass.

Oh I do! But my lanta do they forget after a 30-40 min drive, and sometimes I can't even say something before they're trying to open a door ?

I hate briefing passengers about the door handle, but it seems everyone that rides in my cybertruck tries that emergency handle if I don't bring it up.

I got a friend who incessantly uses it. Now the emergency latch is loose. Anyone know how to tighten it up?

I think it could possibly damage the windows, since they don't go down with the emergency handle, but hey, who ever heard of damaging CYBERTRUCK windows?! ?

I honestly don't understand why the emergency release doesn't try to trigger the normal door opening procedure first. That way if there was power, no biggie and if not, the door opens. My BMW i8 has a manual door release as well, but it's decently removed from the normal door opening button and unlikely to be used inadvertently.

It also damages the trim, you know, the stuff the window hits.
