I think 'keying' would cause damage to the wraps everyone is getting, rather than to the SS.
I wonder whether it would be possible to run something similar to a taser thru the SS. Should be safe as long as the wrap is intact, but try to key the vehicle thru the wrap, and ZAP!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm used to parking vehicles far way from others to prevent door dings. Maybe I'll continue the practice to discourage keying. I wonder how many people have been arrested for vandalism after being caught on Sentry Mode video for keying Teslas in general?
Oh we had a few here in Colorado... its great!

Maybe we can try and not turn everything into a political debate?

On topic, as a test I just keyed my SS barbecue grill and a piece of SS boat railing, the cheap grill SS was slightly scratched and the boat railing was not. I'm thinking the CT will be closer to the boat railing in quality.
since its sort of adjacent to the vandalism topic:

you ever gonna tell us why you got banned by TMC ?

Keys are made of soft metals, usually, on purpose.
You want the key to wear down instead of the tumblers in the lock, because replacing the lock is harder than replacing the key.
Scratches to paint are the main issue with keyed cars.
Anyone who tries to scratch the Cybertruck with a house or car key is going to have a bad time.

Also with a regular car the paint is what’s being damaged. There are plenty of videos online of people scratching Teslas. Nothing we can do to stop an asshole from being an asshole.

What would be nice is to get a notification when Sentry mode picks up activity and be able to communicate from our phones through the external speaker and scare the shit out of them. Or even better, have Ludacris’ song play “move bitch get out the way, get out the way” at about a 10.
You have it all wrong. It is not about what anyone will do to the truck. It is all about what will happen to them!

Yeah go right ahead. I have way too much to lose for that nonsense.

Considering keys are brass and much softer than stainless steel, keying won’t be an issue. A screwdriver would scratch it but I’m sure that it could be sanded out.
But... but... it might compromise it's bulletproof properties.

I noticed my cybertruck got keyed today. California here. I'm not sure what happened to the key but it left clear scratch for sure.

It's so heartbreaking that this thing happened to me.

I have a K9 in my truck almost all the time when we're out. I got tired of her going into defensive mode when people would stick their faces against the glass. So I just slapped on a "360 recording" vinyl on the b pillar and a "K9" vinyl on the back window on both sides of the truck. It's seemed to help a lot, I don't get nearly as many people touching or leaning on the car. Sure has saved me from needing to review dozens of sentry videos after a 30 min grocery story stop.

Have yet to be keyed. But if they fuck around, they'll find out....

California is the third-largest state in the United States in area, after Alaska and Texas.

Where are you located in CA?

We're neighbor, Fountain Valley here.

I know how you feel, sorry! I'm surprised to hear that, CTs are everywhere around me. Is it very deep? Picture if you can tomorrow. And I'll try to avoid Dana Point, Newport and Huntington are not bad to me so far.
